Yes to certain extent.

My alt has 3 Dwarf, 3 pally, and 2 Fighter Past Lives and an equal number of Epic Past Lives and 45ish Reaper Points. I am viable in most content as the Tank. My AC isn't quite as high and my HP is lower.
