Best Longbows for level 17~30

I’m looking for the best non-raid longbow for my ranger.

Preferably one with high DPS and/or crit chance.

Any suggestions?

Bow of Sinew - poor damage, but great criticals.
Thunderforged - good base damage.
Epic Sapphire Sting

Telling a newbie to farm eToEE nowadays is just mean.

Bow of Sinew is an easy farm. It's an endchain reward from Harbinger of Madness. Quest difficulty doesn't matter to chain rewards, so just speedrun them on Normal until you pull the bow. The Sustaining Symbiont counteracts the Overfocus penalty (-10 Search & Spot), which drops from the Fred chest in Sane Asylum, but it's not a must-have.

Cheap Shot is also an easy farm. You have a few more days left to run the Anniversary Party (Apr. 30). Or you can run the Cannith / Eveningstar challenges for their longbows. You missed a Challenge rewards bonus two weekends ago, unfortunately.

I think everything else is a chest drop so good luck with them.

Aww... I thought the challenge bonus only applies to the cannith/eveningstar ones.... too bad....

If comparing the the epic borderlands longbow with the epic cannith longbows, which ones are better?

And then you ransack it - because who pulls what they want after only 10 runs amirite? - and have to decide to either wait a week or farm the rest of ToEE to get it.

True, it's really a pain in the neck trying to farm for the Sapphire Sting. I guess I might as well give up...

It is a pain - I tried to farm an Elemental Bloom back in the day, no joy, and now it's been nerfed.

What a lot of players do for items like these is to hit them once or twice a life. Get the XP for first time, maybe once more for luck, then move on. No grind, and ~eventually~, with any luck, it drops.

I do this but with alts instead. If I need something, any alt in range will hit it up for xp and a shot at the gear I'm after.

Too bad.... My main is in epics, so grinding the party is a pain, and all my alts are level 2~4 ish, not good for farming...

I use this until 20. I actually find the damage to be excellent Although this was pre-ranged nerf so who knows how I will feel next life.

From 20 to 22 (or 24 depending on when I want to go to my bank)

Honorable Mention: Borderlands Bow

Thunderforged - good base damage.

I have a 22 and a 24 version although with the Elemental Bow I sometimes will be at 23 or 24 before I hit the bank. Just depends on how many XP trains I can find.

Took me 5 lives to finally pull and so many more chests. But I used Thunderforged until it finally dropped.

So i tried making a map of how i did. The red dots are where the optionals can spawn and the blue ones are some i am not sure about. The white line is the route i run. If an optional spawn it will show under optionals so look out for these.

You need to be able so find secret doors two places.

The good thing about this is there is a possibility of atleast 7 chests. This is how i farmed a lot of gear for toee. If nothing found recall and try again. Good thing is its different chests so ransack is usually not a problem.



Also i saw a guy doing this years ago and therefore cannot take credit for the idea but i expanded on it. I cannot find his post. If you see this i do not hope you get offended.

Does it only drop in chests dropped by the ogre mage and pyramid?
