Greater elemental weapons spell

Just returned to game about a month ago and started to play through the racial reincarnation again. Been playing as a artificer and completed triple tiefling life and am currently doing halfling. I noticed when I can the spell greater elemental weapons that the description says 3d6 of the element type selected but when I mouse over it while in reaper or heroic it states that it is 1d6. Is this a typo or is this an issue. Have not checked the combat log to see if the damage is matching its actual description damage since damage is scaled down in reaper and I pretty much run reaper exclusively.

Any one know for certain? Would like to know.

You should be able to test this in just a regular quest vs normal and vs. elements weakness type. I'd say the description is wrong.

It does 3d6. I am on the fence about whether it's better than deadly weapons. Certainly with a normal crit profile it is, but if have you enough crit bonuses deadly weapons probably still pulls ahead. It's nice to be able to match most elemental weaknesses.
