    Default Remove reaper lock out mechanism

    The reaper lock out mech us completely unknown to new players.
    I usually like them in my lfm but sometimes they die- rage- recall in quest.

    This is very against lfm

    Especiially everytime i play reaper Tempest spine there is one newbie doing this

    So remove this useless mechanism please
    In game in Cannith as
    Aborim Master (main toon) --- Nickallin (my tank)--- Jjnick (warlock 30) --- Nickpunick ()--- Nickruvido (my healer)--- Nickallinone (shuri build)

    Back when Reaper was introduced, it was allegedly this "challenge" mode because the game had become too easy. And it is true, power creep has invalidated a grand portion of content. So Reaper gets special rules, because it is so special. And then, SSG drops a ton of power creep into this "challenge" mode.

    Shortly thereafter, the stay-at-cap crowd cried and cried about how RXP was so hard to get. So SSG doubled the payout for them. So much for challenge. Now, someone just recently suggested bringing that payout in-line with the other levels, by boosting 1-28 RXP payouts. And here you suggest removing the lock-out.

    (Aside:
    Now that SSG has announced the proper way to play DDO (tm) [hint: you're not reincarnating enough], perhaps they will revisit the stay-at-cap bonus?)

    All of this was predictable. All of this was predicted. The problem you have is that while SSG may have introduced Reaper for challenge, they introduced Reaper trees to extend the grind. Once they start removing the special rules that make Reaper 'special', then they admit the truth of the situation.

    They kind of just did. We used to get full rxp only at the base level of the quest. Now we get full rxp at base+3 and only -10% at base+4. Given how quick heroic quests are and how good the first time bonuses are, I think we’re back in the era of rxp from heroic hamster wheel. Except now we’ll be running it at base+2/3/4 depending on your pleasure.

    Maim soloing r4 now and I can tell you that I am NOT a “I can solo R4 player.” It’s because I’m 4 levels over base.

    Agreed. I understand the reason why it was included, but it causes more problems than it helps. People that can't handle a challenge and rage quit don't need to disrupt the party any more than they already do.

    At minimum they need to add a warning to let the players know that they're about to lock the group out. I'd say recalling from reaper is one of two major mistakes new players make that unintentionally screw over older players. The other, slipping in over level and screwing up BB/reaper XP, will be a little less of a problem now.

    Honestly I have wondered this myself. Figured it was "bad programming" but honestly I wonder if it is something I haven't considered.

    It is the idea of SSG to increase the challenge: if you fail quest and nobody can resurrect you, you have to start from the beginning. The correct design for this idea is that the character who has recalled could not return, not seal the quest for everyone, but expect good design today...

    Anyways, imo it is a bad mechanism to increase the challenge.

    Wilderness lock out at 4 levels seems like an over sight.
    But I am sure the fix will be suck it up butter cup.
