    Default Update 39 Preview 1 Main Thread

    The first preview of Update 39 is now open to players! This preview features some, but not all, of the systems expected to go live with Update 39. This preview contains none of the 5 new dungeons expected to go live with Update 39. There will be atleast one more preview for Update 39 before it is released to live.

    IMPORTANT: In order to access this preview you are going to need to uninstall any previous Lamannia client and then download a freshly installed client from here.

    With that being said, this preview specifically highlights the following features:



    In addition to the above primary features the following list of miscellaneous changes and bug fixes should be true in this preview:


    Character
    • Feats
      • The following feats now display their total current calculated DC's on their tooltip:
        • Trip
        • Stunning Blow
        • Improved Trip
    • Classes
      • Artificer
        • Renegade Mastermaker: Paragon Body should now reduce spell failure properly on Warforged characters.
        • Arcanotechnician: 5th Core ability now properly requires 18 Artificer levels.
      • Cleric
        • Radiant Servant: Altruism now correctly provides +10 Positive Spell Power
      • Fighter
        • Stalwart Defender: Counterattack no longer erroneously requires Character Level 12.
    • Epic Destinies
      • Legendary Dreadnought
        • Pulverizer tooltip no longer erroneously claims that it does not affect Handwraps.
      • Draconic Incarnation
        • Energy Sheathe's icon on the buffbar has been changed so you can more easily determine which element you are protected from.
    • Spells
      • The tooltip of Heal, Mass has been fixed to state it's accurate Max Caster Level of 25.
      • Teleport now goes to a new location - the Lower Necropolis! This includes the Human Dragonmark of Passage version!
    • Miscallaneous
      • Action Boost: Haste now gives the advertised values of attack speed for ranged characters"



    Quests
    • Update U38 Quests
      • Madness of Crowds: Multiple enemies no longer drop empty treasure bags.
      • Night Falls on Stormreach: Fixed an issue where the Night Manager would sometimes close a gate instead of opening it when two people were talking to him at the same time."
      • Night Falls on Stormreach: Fixed an issue where the riot might not start if you killed the caster boss too quickly.
      • Age of Rage: One of the four false rocks at the start was unable to be clicked. This is now fixed.
      • Age of Rage: The caged bear is now actually too fat to leave it's cage.
    • Older Quests
      • Flagging for Ascension Chamber should no longer stop progressing after having reincarnated and holding a Completed Sigil. Characters in a state where their flagging progression had been broken should be able to talk to Rohine and be able to progress normally.
      • Haunted Halls of Eveningstar: The Doppleganger puzzle now waits for the player to use the first door in the dungeon to set itself up. This should limit the possibility of the Doppelganger failing to spawn.
      • Black Loch: Total visual revamp of Black Loch, with an aim of improving performance and aesthetics.
      • Yester Hill: Work has been done to reduce performance issues.
      • Oath of Vengeance: The Harpies at the top of the tower should now more reliably fly down to attack targets.
      • The Battle for Eveningstar: Fixed a visual issue with the Bebelith's death.
      • The Portal Opens: The Goristro at the end now leaves at the end as intended.
      • Wheloon: Fixed an issue where certain sounds in Wheloon wouldn't turn off when you left the area.
      • The Storm Horns: The drop rates of venison from deer and fox tails from foxes has been significantly increased.
      • It is now easier to see through the foggy areas in the following quests:
        • Breaking the Ranks
        • What Goes Up
        • A Break in the Ice
      • A Study in Sable: One of the secret doors is now easier to find.
      • Enemy Within should now accurately specify in the objectives panel what you are required to slay.
      • Chamber of Rahmat: The location of two collectable nodes has been altered.


    Items
    • The following items no longer erroneously grant both Doublestrike and Doubleshot. Instead they grant only the one listed in their tooltip:
      • Mythic Muffled Veneer
      • Dynamistic Quiver
      • Fellblade
      • Coffin Nail
      • Epic Quiver of Alacrity
      • Trapsmith's Crossbow
      • First Blood
    • The Ravenloft Set Bonus icons and tooltip text adjusted slightly for clarity.
    • Van Richten's Cane, both Heroic and Legendary, no longer erroneously causes 5% Arcane Spell Failure
    • Almond-Coated Shadow Apples and Darkswirl Caramel Bites now grant Festive bonuses, as described
    • Alchemical Intimidate potions now grant their listed bonus.
    • The Augment "Deconstructor" no longer erroneously states that it is Minimum Level 26.
    • Platemail of Strahd has had a visual issue when worn by Dragonborn resolved.
    • Slave Lords crafting now displays the appropriate amount of Quality attributes in the vendor (+1 for Heroic and +5 for Legendary)
    • The text of the Cowardly Sentient Jewel now matches the voice recording.
    • The Prowess set now grants the intended +75 Melee Power instead of the +100 left over from an early preview of Ravenloft.


    Daily Dice
    • On Gold Daily Dice rolls, Titan's Grip and Alchemical Intimidate potions now drop in stacks of 3.
    • Bigby's Hands no longer appear in Tier 8 of the Gold Daily Dice table.
    • A few cosmetics were appearing in both Tier 7 and Tier 8 of the Gold Daily Dice tables; this has been fixed.
    • Three brand-new cosmetics have been added to the Gold Daily Dice tables!


    Miscellaneous
    • The effect "Epic Ward" no longer displays the same examination icon and VFX as "Death Ward" to avoid confusion.
    • Rest and Resurrection Shrines can no longer be stood on top of.
    • The NPC Dialog box is no longer locked to the middle of the screen. It should, instead, open in the location of the screen that it was last closed on.
    • Fixed a typo in Elminster's dialog in Eveningstar.
    • Mephits no longer continue to make a wing-flapping noise after they are dead.
    • A bunch of miscalleneous work has been done on Griffin monsters.
    • Reapers no longer erroneously slow Melee Attack speed.

    Yes. I’m an idiot and grabbed the list forgetting that it went both ways. The full problem fixed was items that were meant to grant only one of doublestike or doubleshot instead erroneously granting both. Will fix the notes when I get back to a machine other than my phone.

    Could we please see the following make it in before preview 2/release:

    1. Fix Dethek Runestone's +W bonus. Currently it only provides +1W if you have a weapon equipped, and +2W if your mainhand is empty.

    2. Go back and change Deity active abilities to have reasonable cooldowns in conjunction with their effects, and or make a few of the effects toggles like Amaunator's Fireshield or Sylvanus maul threat range. The main issue is on pure Divines these abilities last 144 seconds with a 600 second cooldown, or about a 24% uptime, while some are powerful some aren't due to trade-offs or simply lacking 'firepower'. In particular: Bladeforged Transformation (Would work best as a toggle with a cooldown and SP cost), The Blood is the Life (Make the vampirism portion as toggle and the other half a clickie, or a full toggle and reduce the non-vampirism effects by half), Undying Call (True Resurrection clickie on Elves with a 10 minute cooldown...), Silver Flame Exorcism (Banishment with a damage portion? Still insane on a 10 minute cooldown), Everwatchful (just make it a true sight toggle), or Vulkor's Avatar (I honestly love this one, it's just weak as it doesn't scale in levels like other pets, primarily the Wizard Skeleton.)

    3. Fix certain healing abilities from the Divine enhancements and class feats work with undead players. The Blood is the Life does not work if you are undead despite having daggers equipped. Ameliorating Strike from War Priest/War Soul does not heal undead as well. I doubt Beacon of Hope heals undead either at the moment.

    4. Vistani Single Dagger: Only works with runearms. Can this please be changed to any offhand item that isn't a weapon? IE: Shields, Orbs, and Runearms.

    The alchemical stat potions and Rising Fury (level 20) potions need to go, also. Rising Fury has a static 30 second duration regardless of level. And the alchemical stat potions last ONE. MINUTE. They're worthless. I don't want to get them for daily dice rolls, thanks.

    hooray for tooltip DC's! I remember asking for this on the PC a couple years ago and we were told it was too problematic.

    the teleport to lower Necropolis, does that also include Royal Guard Mask? any chance we can also add Harbor as a teleport location too?

    I know it's probably too late to add a change like this for this update, but I want to point out that there has been a visual issue for Dragonborn wearing robes and robe cosmetics ever since they were released. I made this video last year but it doesn't show quite the extent of how much it opens up. On my Warlock this issue is a lot easier to see.

    Thanks for the fix on DC display,

    As for this feature...... not being able to land on top of a shrine. This takes away long standing tradition of bets being made and just plain fun in CC shaft #2.

    That's ok, Ive been ambushed there many times, Im used to it.

    A big part of RPGs in general going all the way back to OD&D is winning through smart play. It seems like every time we figure out a smarter, more efficient way to do anything, we get SONY'd. "Thou shalt play the game in only the exact, specific way we intended and any deviation will be met with swift retribution. Oh, but bugs that have been around for years are okay as long as they don't benefit the players." It's like gaming under the worst DM ever.

    Perching has always been frowned upon. Frankly I'm surprised this didn't happen back in the day when players would perch on the shrines in the beginning of Wiz King to scroll farm. Someone even posted a video doing it.

    Would like to see the Half-Orc Lock Bash racial enhancement finally use Strength as its modifier, as it is written, instead of Charisma.

    Note that if you are less competent and don't know how to uninstall stuff (OR lazy to search for the uninstall link), you can do it also in the following order:

    1) Download the file.
    2) Run the file. It will mention that DDO Preview is already installed and offers to uninstall. So uninstall it.
    3) Run the file again and install anew.

    Merry previewing and happy new bugs.

    Default Character Transfer

    I transferred a character to Lamannia without any problems BUT I can not transfer a 2nd character. Everything works in the transfer process but the character never arrives. I have tried it with a 3rd character and that does not arrive either. I lnow its not an important issue but thought I would bring it up

    Default Missing top tier Favor Rewards !!!

    Is there any chance we can get the missing top tier favor rewards into this update ?

    It's been years that PDK, Gatekeepers, and Twelve top tier have been empty/missing. And more recently Keeper of the Feather and Free Agents have their top tier accessible, but missing favor rewards.

    Favor rewards are a great way to get people running old quests (more LFMs / more diversity) + can push some newer premium users to buy older packs from DDO store.

    If short of ideas, Simple stat boosts (HP/AC/PRR/MRR/.., +1 AP racial points, xtra feat, +1 fate point, xtra saves, etc..) are, in my opinion, good and simple options for top-tier as they may get people running patron quests multiple times (i.e. at each TR Life) and hence more LFM/ diversity.

    Whilst you are playing around with the Bigby's hands - can you just delete them both the Silver and Gold tables.
