Default Could This Be The Ravenloft Pricing?

So, SSG announced pricing for Mordor Expansion. I speculate on wither or not this is what we will see for Ravenloft.

Nija Edit - I have eidted the post with information for the other 2 DDO Expansions (Which was in my original draft of the post, but for some odd reason did not post when it went live)

The Menace of the Underdark pre-sale pricing was $20-$80 so we could be looking at a jump of $10-$50. If the pre-sales on LOTRO do not do well SSG might rethink the prices.

300+ new quests??? I never knew LOTRO had it so good. If SSG wants my money for Ravenloft (which i glady would give, i love DDO and would continue to support it) they better make the product equivalent or offer a significant explanation why their is so much disparity between their customers and products. What I mean is...it better be GOOD.

LOL, a lot of quest in LOTRO are things like go kill a certain number of some creature, nothing like what we have in DDO.

This ^ those 300+ quests would be like counting every single objective in a wilderness zone as a "quest". Killed 10 mobs? 1 quest, killed 25 mobs? 2 quests....

I was thinking the exact same thing.
Steve Howe was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977–1981) and in 1981 was the first rock guitar player inducted into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame.

Failoon/borehorns was a waste of money on my end, months of being unplayable and on steam sale for a few bucks a few years later.
Never again will i take a risk like that on a game like this. Chance it it will screw over more builds and see even more ranged toons running around.

i haven't played Lotro but knowing the dev team i would think something like tangle root, 10 quests but only 2 actual environments. Not counting the wilderness.

Quests in LOTRO are significantly different than Dungeons in DDO.

You can not compare a "quest" to go find 10 rat tails with DDO dungeons.

So much this. Without a doubt, at least 250 of those 300 new quests are some variation of "Kill 10 Orcs", or "Capture 15 Hobbits for roasting". (Hobbits are the Halflings of the LOTR universe)

I was reading somebody talking about this last night, and he was saying that in LotRO, stuff in wildernesses would all be considered separate quests. And I'm talking each individual rare, each explorer, possibly even the different slayer marks, etc.

So 5 new areas would be ~60 "quests" in each... so probably a lot like MotU, with EStar, KF, Shindy, Underdark, & Demonweb, each having 1-5 actual quests and the wildies having a dozen or two explorers, a dozen or two rares, and a bunch of slayers.

This could explain why we havent seen any server merges....

so all those quests in ddo that tell you kill 200 kobolds, collect various items
, talk to this guy are different from lotro? sorry the only difference is ddo puts you in your own instance and makes you do 5-20 objectives(quests) before you get your reward. its ok if you like ddo more then lotro, hell there are plenty of reason to hate on lotro but to act like ddo quests are diamonds compared to lotro is BS.

how many times do you have to kill so many monsters in ddo to progress the quest especially since they like adding closed doors now? how many times do you need to collect so many junk items to progress the quest? oh and since you have to reincarnate how many times do you run the same quests over and over and over? and if you ask me ddo needs some capture the hobbits/halfling for roasting quests would make a fun festival quest at the very least.

Yeah, you could say a lot of the newer quests in DDO are like taking multiple LOTR "kill" quests, and putting them in to closed spaces. Sad.

The LOTRO base is apparently not scared of maintenance mode if the marketing research was done right and these sales are making it.
