VIP sub cancelled and can't renew

I was playing the game earlier today, logged off, and when I attempted to log back onto a character, a message popped up saying that my character had been booted from the world. I clicked the "ok" button and it closed the client.
I logged back in and discovered that I no longer had my VIP subscription and the store would no longer accept my CC to renew it.
It returned the following error code - "1058: The payment was declined. Please contact your bank for more information."
I have absolutely no idea why my recurring subscription was cancelled.

From the limited info here, my first guess is that this was your normal time for your subscription to renew?

Maybe. Just seemed odd to me for it to kick me from the game as it did and then prevent me from renewing.

Checked the basics.

CC is not expired.
Account hasn't been frozen.
Has sufficient funds.
Didn't mistype the number or the cvv code.

And after about two hours I tried again and it worked.
My best guess is that it had something to do with the migration from Turbine to SSG, but I really have no idea.
