    Default Hurry up and Announce Your TLE Servers, Plz.

    You're in bed with Daybreak, so it's only a matter of time.

    My advice:

    1. Learn from the mistakes they made with similar initiatives in other games (meaning: do actual research plz)
    1b) Have a beta that's really a beta so you can
    2. Make sure stuff works before pushing it out
    3. Don't ignore players; don't push expansions according to internal timeline
    4. No vet perks/past lives/no ships/no daily dice; (cap 10)
    5. Xp reduced; xp to level increased (yay you can profit moar from Xp pots)
    6. Loot pass
    7. f2p can play up to and including market
    8. Some rudimentary leaderboards for epeens
    9. 5ish min inactivity boot from instance
    10. Advertise, kthx.

    Bye.

    I wonder what TLE means?

    As of right now, I don't care and I won't even google it.

    TLE = True Life Experience?
    TLE = Tender Loving Experience?
    TLE = Teddybear Little Evil?
    TLE = Too Long, Enough?

    From my time at the local WalMart, I've learned that it means Tire and Lube Express. So the servers are going to provide an oil change and new treads. I'm guessing that must mean that it will be Warforged only, since a fluid change like that on a living creature would be devastating to its health.

    LMGTFY:

    A two-line element set (TLE) is a data format encoding a list of orbital elements of an Earth-orbiting object for a given point in time, the epoch.

    Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is a chronic disorder of the nervous system characterized by recurrent, unprovoked focal seizures (also known as partial seizures) that originate in the temporal lobe of the brain and last about one or two minutes. TLE is the most common form of epilepsy with focal seizures.

    TLE. The Linux Experience. (n.) The experience a person gets when he faces the Linux coding and interface, as well as the relative lack of ANY GUI...

    TLE Servers - Time Locked Expansion Servers.

    I'm not sure how that would work in DDO however as the game had a TLE for over a year between Module 8 and Eberron Unlimited and look how well that went.

    The Lost Experience!!!

    I LOVED the Lost series and would like to check out their virtual reality world. I don't think we need to combine forums with them though.

    Isn't it fun how abbreviations leave so much to interpretation . This is why I hate texting and twitter. Full sentences with spelled out words for me please.

    My guess is the Time Lock Experience is probably the closest to what the OP was referring.

    Look! someone stepped out of their cave and into the sunshine-- then knowledge happened!

    Times change (altho' not for most or the respondents here, who really should just stick to listening to their favorite songs on 8-track, ifuknowwhumean). The demand is real.

    Also, the vet-perk-and-multiple-PL-free tears will be sweeter than the low, low price of a 3 month sub.

    Make it happen, devs. I give you permission.

    ~S

    P.S. you can still have your crutches on regular servers.

    The thing I see here is 2 is an extension of 1b) and possibly the whole list is based on that grammar.

    Jokes aside:
    4, 5 and 7 sounds like you are a very casual player who doesn't want to invest money in the game. #5 also makes no sense.
    There is a quite a lot of free content for new players, including earning free TP to earn many packs. I had earned enough TP to purchase nearly every pack up until the mid U20's when I stopped playing for a while, bought the expansions and now own almost everything again (aside from things I will never use, i.e. H-Orc)

    Where would the leaderboards go? What would they contain? Challenge scores? Times? I could just imagine how many arrogant elitists will be bragging about their #1 spot in EE Kobold Assault or fastest Zerg runs of Kobold's New Ringleader

    <part about your preferences spending habits snipped; this thread is not about you kthx>.
    So... #5 both sounds like something and makes no sense. This after noticing that items on a list might be related. Stellar analysis.

    I'll simplify things for you:

    The content in DDO is interesting, and the approach (i.e. emphasis on both builds and gear) is still fairly novel, but the 'XP per minute playstyle' that has emerged is inconsistent with retaining new players and off-putting to even some vets. This is a shame, as much of the content holds up well and is fun to play through. New players, however, are often relegated to keeping up with a completionist running from A to B while pushing as few buttons as possible.

    I don't wish any nerfs on DDO's whales. I love you all (even the many, ultra-toxic ones), and I hope you continue to perceive gear as skill on your power creep servers for years to come. This would simply be a new server with a level cap of 10. All experience gains would be reduced, and the XP required to level would be greatly increased. Loot (which would also be nerfed in both quality and frequency) would matter, and so would dying. No vet perks, no shortcuts. Ideally, no casual or normal mode, either. If it were up to me, I'd restrict instance entry to characters of quest level.

    "But I like normal mode!" I can almost hear you scream. I don't doubt it, and good for you. It'll still be there, on the original servers.

    I should point out that because Daybreak is involved, one would probably have to be a VIP to access the server, but they could market it as a nostalgia/hardcore server or something. That's for them to figure out. Leaderboards (despite SSGs recent dopiness with their own site) should be fairly straightforward to set up, and would be a much more enticing carrot for new/purist players than, say, 10k remnants for a crown.

    And by the way, on a power-creep-free server, getting through Ringleader would mean a whole heck of a lot more than it does now, 'specially with the new aggro mechanics.

    I had some LOL moments at some of the guesses - thank you. As to the OP, I could get behind the idea. It would have been a great solution to the "too easy" issue. Unfortunately, much of the DDO store revolves around TRing so I doubt they will even create separate servers with that mode in case it becomes too popular.
