Default Lag! Switching Equipment Causes Horrid Lag. Try for Yourself.

In quest, try switching equipment. In our case upper level epic quests. All party could replicate lag by swapping equipment in quest.

Which might be why disjunction causes lag?

    Easy way to replicate:

Have a Voice of the Master, and a second trinket item?

Go to bottom Cargo floor of airsjhip, switch between them, and check to see if you have lag.

Can replicate solo and in parties...

Biggest hurdle to EE raids is lag, and this may be the key.

I heard awhile back, players complaining that anything that changed the UMD scores (which affects ability to bypass object's restrictions) can cause lag.

    which this does.

Also a player hit with disjunction wearing a +X charisma item would also feel that effect?

Just a rumor heard several years ago.

Not a rumor. Eladrin even had people working on it at one point, I'm not sure if it ever actually got changed though. (And it doesn't sounds like his changes would actually fix it, just lessen how often it occurred.)

And just to add some more anecdotal evidence, I was running MoD earlier tonight when I got hit with disjunction the entire raid group locked up for a good 30 seconds , and I personally stayed locked up for 1-2 minutes. (eventually found myself in the middle dead with tons of damage scrolling by)

This happened to me today...in the new Meridia quests. It also happened a moment in Vale.

    It cleaned up later though.

This. Before the update I could move in and out of tree form no problem.

I've tried playing with the various toggles I have in an attempt to prevent it, but it never fails, every time just a massive burst of lag felt by anyone in the raid or party.

Yeah, a guildie and me found the same thing.

The worst part is when my guildie did it, it froze the entire instance of Gianthold or market for 2 minutes. We tried a few times, everytime my guildie switched the boots the entire instance froze. We tested it on market, gianthold, legendary hox and a single quest. In legendary hox, he switched the boots when we completed the quest to avoid wipes and to test if everyone of the party was affected.

The item in question we used was a random boots of parrying.

You can test it with epic ethereal bracers or any item with parrying. Just unequip it and you will see that it doesn't unequip after a few seconds later.

My guildie was also affected using tree form.

Default if you check the other forum...

the swap item lag is also a purposeful grief move, by players w the top line systems and super high speed internet.
There are items that they swap and hot click that cause massive game memory f ups....,as well as 1 or 2 spells that do same as well as a few abilities. They combo them and laugh at the others running in place!

Yes- I see the rougher game pauses when I swap equipment ,but that is only the tip of the iceberg. This subject gets wiped under the carpet quick in forum, since devs don't want players to know bout it.

And about 10 of this pops each time I swap epic minos to teleport mask.

    Then it ends with:

    No wonder there's lag.

    Hi,

I know someone on Khyber who was having a lot of trouble with this a while back. There was some problem with how ToEE set items and tree form were interacting. It would generate a lot of lag both for him and other people in the party.

The new raids also seem quite laggy, though whether it's something to do with their design or because we might have more people playing again after the update I don't know.

    Thanks.
