    Default Question about Spell Casters

I noticed on my Cleric that some spells ingredients need to be purchased from the DDO store. I also noticed that some of those spells are spells that I would like to have. Here is my dilemma...Is there an easy to play caster that will allow me to play through epics without having to spend money in the DDO store to use spells or is this just the way of the spell caster to be effective.

I am particularly interested in the Warlock because I have heard some of its best attack/spells are not DDO store dependant. However, I know nothing really about Warlock.

So, if this is in fact true, can anyone advise me on a detailed build for this type of warlock? I just want survivability but yet I don't want gimped DPS either. With the upcoming nerf (from what I am reading) some guidance is helpful.

I have access to all the iconics and am VIP too so content is not too restricted if that helps any.

There's not a single ingredience that is needed for spellcasting that is not available in game via platinum (trap the soul maybe not, technically, whatever).
You are probably just looking in the wrong place then.

Check Feather's Fall Apothecary in House Jorasco. You should find any divine spell casting ingrediences there you could possibly want.

Pretty sure they sell those khyber shards in the portable hole, and the skeleton the shroud before pt 4.

Where can I get OmniSpell items outside of the DDO store? These are all over the requirements for a lot of spells. Any help is appreciated.

they are not requirement - they are the pay-to-win ALTERNATIVE to regular platinum priced spell components. So you can use either.

Yeah, sometimes people run out of spell components inside a quest, and buying them from the store seems like a better idea to them than just using other spells for that quest, or recalling and going to buy some spell comps.

    It's a convenience item.

I like OP's join date and his question together.

You either buy the normal spell components (about 10 usually), or you just buy the two above, to save inventory space and the time it takes to go to the component vendor in house J near the teleportation portal where you buy 1000 of each.

    Everything else.

    To be more specific:
-Omnispell dust can be used for EVERY spell which doesn't need a 'rare' (read: more expensive in plat) component.
-Omnispell stones can be used for EVERY spell which needs a rare (read: more expensive in plat) component.

So the answer to your question is: whatever the spell says its component is, is what you use. Where it says omnispell dust or omnispell stones that's just DDO reminding you that there's a store bought option if you suddenly find yourself without any of the in-game, non ddo-store components mid quest and a spell won't cast. Or, if you have a lot of money, maybe you prefer just to buy dust and stones and only carry around 2 ingredient types instead of one type per spell level you can cast and maybe some 'rare' components too.

Do you want me to copy-paste the text on the wiki pages?

It can drop in any chest, but with an extremely low droprate.
However, as others said already, it is not needed, but an alternative. I personally always carry some omnispell dust as backup in case I run out of normal components.

And by the way, if you have multiple ingrediences that qualify for a spell, the stack comes is first in your inventory will be used. I just put my omnidust in my very last backback slot.
