    Default Holy Great Crossbow! 5 Rog/15 Pali + dps estimate

    EDIT: Redid all calculations, dropping Holy Smite and added in DPS calculations using Needle for comparison.

    Rogue 5/Pali 14/Fighter 1:

    Attributes:

    Abilities:
    (You are going to need +5 and 4 tomes – I understand that most won’t, so substitute your numbers where ‘tome’ is listed). Basically, make sure Dex gets to 21 and Max Int.
    STR: 12 (8 base + 3 tome + 1 exceptional) = 12 STR
    DEX: 22 (16 base + 5 tome + 1 exceptional) = 22
    CON: 41 (16 base + 5 Tome + 11 Item + 1 exceptional + 3 Insight + 5 ED) = 41 CON (+15)
    INT: 52 (18 base + 7 level ups + 5 tome + 6 enhancements + 11 Item + 1 exceptional + 3 Insight + Great Int = 52 (+21)
    WIS: 19 (8 base + 4 Tome + 6 item +1 exceptional) = 19 WIS
    CHA: 12 (8 Base + 3 Tome + 1 exceptional) = 12 CHA

    Skills:

    Max out these: Disable device, open lock, search, jump and UMD. Consider Perform and Diplomacy if you’re going Shiradi, Heal if you want to boost devotion spell power, balance to get up faster, spot for spot checks, and tumble if you want to move faster than people with feather fall.

    Auto feats:
    Sneak attack +3d6, Trap Finding, Evasion, Trap Sense +1, Trapmaking, Uncanny Dodge
    1. Point Blank Shot: +1 [W]
    2. Rapid Reload

    Human:
    1. Mobility

    Paladin:
    Auto Feats:

    3. Improved Crit: Ranged
    4. Improved Precise Shot
    5. Precision
    6. Shot on the Run, giving you better dodge and 3% Ranges Power instead of 2%.

    Fighter:
    1. Weapon Focus: Ranged
    2. Either Power Critical (+2 to confirm, +2 to crit damage) or Weapon Focus: Thrown (+2 Ranged Power). (Choose Power Crit if using Needle, Weapon Focus: Thrown if you bring a lot of additional base damage, like ranger past lives). The DPS calcs will use Power Crit (at the base level of damage, it adds 5 more pts damage than 2 ranged power).

    DPS with Great Crossbow using Holy Sword (n= base damage):
    GX: [7.5(9)+n]0.60+3[7.5(9)+n+23]0.25+5[7.5(9)+n+23]0.1=(?)*ranged power*bolts/sec

    GX: [7.5(9)+80]0.60+3[7.5(9)+80+28]0.25+5[7.5(9)+80+28]0.1=(?)*ranged power*bolts/sec
    GX: [147.5]0.60+3[175.5]0.25+5[175.5]0.1=
    GX: 88.5+131.625+87.75=307.825

    Needle: [5.5(6.5)+n]0.75+4[5.5(6.5)+n+25]0.1+6[5.5(6.5)+n+25][0.1=(?)*ranged power*bolts/sec
    [5.5(6.5)+66]0.70+4[5.5(6.5)+66+28]0.15+6[5.5(6.5)+66+28][0.1=
    71.225+77.85+77.85=226.925

    Estimated DPS:
    ROF: 75/ 85 w/haste/ 100 w/haste+Tensers (at 11% double shot) and I’m guessing 115 w/20% double shot on top (These numbers are likely off for this build; sorry, I do not have a 5 Rogue/15 Paladin to test that BAB ROF – this build will fire slightly faster, as the BAB is better than my ROF tester).

    ROF: Shots/min:
    75: 1.25
    85: 1.42
    100: 1.67
    115: 1.92

    Needle = 2.82

    GBX: 307.825*1.92 = 591.12 *Ranged Power
    Needle: 226.925*2.82 = 639.9285 *Ranged Power

    GBX= 998.9928 DPS
    Needle= 1081.479165 DPS

    Both of these numbers will improve at max blitz. They will look like:

    GBX: 1365.49
    Needle: 1478.23

    And of course, if you have past lives or other added base damage, these will improve. Get as much double shot as you can.

    Caveats: I am not calculating ranged speed here properly. I believe actual speed will increase with this build and so you’ll see higher numbers.

    The repeater gets one less sneak attack dice, roughly 1 extra shot per round, so that puts it ahead in terms of added non-base damage
    The GXB gets Vorpal on 19-20, which against mobs with 1000 hp+, adds roughly 10/shot (it does 100/hit to such mobs. So 200/20, and 1 shot always misses). But under 1000, you then have a 10% chance to kill most mobs outright – quite nice! Also, the GXB will knock down stuff on 19-20, no save. And your max crit damage will generally appear higher.
