    Default U21 Commendation of Valor Confusion CoV

    The XP bonus found on Experience Elixirs, VIP bonuses, Guild Airship amenities and items now also increases the Commendation of Valor return found in End Reward lists.

    So this statement made me excited to see.

    I ran a quest with Ship +5, Greater Tome +10, VIP +10. This is a total bump of 25%. I ran an EE quest which used to return to me 35CoV, it returned now 39CoV.

    The base statement from the release notes made me believe that perhaps Turbine wanted to reward VIP and encourage the sale of EXP Potions again...

    ...oh well, I guess not.

    (If anyone knows exactly how it works now, I would be thrilled to know!)

    Tome doesn't apply. It also appears that it applies the bonuses one at a time and always rounds down. (Just a guess need more samples to confirm)

    35 * 1.1 = 38.5

    38*1.05 = 39.9

    =39?

    Alternatively did you still have the ship buff when you claimed your reward? If it's not calculated until then and the buff had worn off than 39 would make sense.

    I ran EH which used to return 18. Received 19 with same buffs (15%) by your method.

    18 X 1.1 = 19.8

    19 X 1.05 = 19.95

    So 19... lol? (I did receive 19)

    EH Lvl 22 with minor xp potion added (5% for two hours)

    15 x 1.1 = 16.5

    16 x 1.05 = 16.8

    16 x 1.05 = 16.8

    Received... 17

    "The XP bonus found on Experience Elixirs, VIP bonuses, Guild Airship amenities and items now also increases the Commendation of Valor return found in End Reward lists."

    Based on the numbers it appears that the bonus of CoVs is based of the Rounded Down Total of each of the above

    Meaning:
    5% from Ship = 1.75 -> 1
    10% VIP = 3.5 -> 3

    Total = +4 CoVs

    Notice I left the Greater Tome of Learning off as it does not appear in the list. I interpret "items" as being Voice of the Master, Mantle of the Worldshapper or the Augment you can build from these.

    Sounds about right. Has anyone ever done the math on whether the xp bonuses apply sequentially to xp in the same way?

    Default Sovereign XP at the ready...

    A contribution: apparently it looks like commendation bonuses are given for your xp bonus when you turn the quest in, not when you finish.

    I found this out by accidentally not having my pale green ioun stone (same xp bonus as voice or mantle) equipped when turning in a quest and noticed that I got one less commendation for it compared to when I did the same quest yesterday. I had the stone equipped when I finished the quest, but used my phiarlan trinket after getting out of the mission and forgot to switch back. Since I had other quests of the same level to turn in, I turned in one more without my ioun stone to make sure I got the same result and the rest with the stone to make sure I got the increased number that I remember from yesterday. Yup.

    Upshot: That means you can indeed do a lot of quests, quaff a large xp pot, and then turn them in at once.

    For anyone interested in the numbers: I was turning in quests on hard with a modified level of 24, which gives a base of 21 CoVs. My bonuses are 5% pot, 10% vip, and 5% ioun stone. With full bonuses, that gets me 25 CoVs; when I left off the stone, I got 24 CoVs.
    Furthermore, I believe that the bugs and lag must be fixed.

    Yea, I noticed the same.
