Default First attempt at an INT based Repeater build, looking for feedback and suggestions.

I want this character to use Repeaters and rune arms for the extra effects. I am not big on spell casting so I went just 4 Arti for Endless fusillade

Both Drow and Morninglord give you +3 Int over what you get with human. Since you take very few human enhancements anyway and have plenty of both skills/feats, they're worth considering. Morninglord would require play some games with lesser hearts of wood, though. Drow would make hitting 21 Dexterity significantly easier without undermining your other attributes.

I'd also consider dumping the Fighter levels and a few Rogue levels for 6 Ranger:
    • Same hit points (-2/level for fighter, +2/level for rogue)
Better saves (Rangers get Ref/Will, Fighters only get Fort, Rogues only get Ref)
Better skills (-2/level for rogue, +4/level for fighter and all levels having access to useful skills)
Feat neutral (-2 feats from Fighter, Rapid Shot/Precise Shot free from Ranger)
Sneak Attack neutral (-2d6 from Rogue, +2d6 from Deepwood Stalker)
Increased PBS/SA range from Deepwood Stalker
Called Shot (allows for sneak attacks)
Killer/Thrill of the Hunt if you go deep enough in Deepwood Stalker

I might play around with drow as race versus human, since Drow get bonus to both Dex and Int, but the lower HP would be a bit of a concerning I think.

I don't really see what you would get from Toughness, Augment Summoning, and Precision.

Precision doesn't work with the precise shot stances. YMMV here.
Augment Summoning doesn't make sense cause your dog will be useless at only 4th level and you won't have flame turret. Is it strictly for hirelings?
Toughness is not very useful at all anymore. Only 31hp at cap.

If you want to use rune arms, I would not recommend going lower than 6 arti to get tactical mobility so you can run full speed with rune arms. Given your feats above and since you want to be a repeater build, I would drop at least 2 if not all 3 fighter.

What would you recommend in place of Toughness, Augment Summoning, and Precision. I did not realize that Precision does not Precise stance, I thought it did.

Augment summoning is just for hirelings and summon monsters as I use those a lot when solo-ing. Plus I had the extra feat slots.

I don't often run while charging the rune arm, use it mostly for the added effect to my crossbow.

You can have Precision and Precise Shot active at the same time. Unless it's been changed so that Precision no longer works with ranged attacks, they should stack.

On rune-arms, isn't the speed decrease only when you're charging your rune-arm? If you never plan to actually fire the thing or use the rune-arm for any purpose except buffing your main hand, couldn't you just untoggle it's charging to move at full speed?

This is the way I run most the time, not charging the run arm, just using it for the extra it provides the crossbow I am using. Although Hand of the Tombs is also very good for breakables. Even a tier 1 charge will take out several breakables at once.

My latest Repeater Beast build is a Warforged 10 Rogue/6 Ranger/4 Arty and lots of fun!

    10 Rogue:
    - Decent SA
    - Improved Evasion
    - Improved Uncanny Dodge
    - Intelligence to Repeater damage
    - Great Trapping skills
    - Tons of Skill Points
    - UMD

    6 Ranger:
    - Most ranged feats (only needing PBS, IPS, and IC: Ranged)
    - Sniper Shot, Leg Shot, Aimed Shot, Head Shot, Inferno Shot, and Improved Archer's Focus, and Thrill of the Hunt (all work with Repeaters)
    - Manyshot (hey, who doesn't have a Pinion now...well I don't on this character, as Needle was more important for the 1 Raider's Reward Box I received) on occasion

    4 Artificer:
    - Bonus feat
    - Insightful Strikes (short duration, but plenty of SP's to recast as needed)
    - Endless Fusilade
    - Repair Light (Warforged, and with good Repair Spellpower, I can crit for about 75)...plus I have a Bound to Character tier 3 Epic Ring of the Master Artifice
    - Elemental Weapons
    - Rune Arm: supplemental elemental damage, craftable, and various other bonuses depending on item

Playstyle is a little challenging at first, trying to coordinate all the different active shots and reloading. But once you get it down it is a ton of fun

My bad, I was thinking power attack.

The speed decrease yes only works when you have the rune arm charged. So what you describe works just fine.

I have found at the higher levels with a Tormoil Within I look at 300-500 per shot of the rune arm so that is average of 1500-2500 per firing of the rune arm that is fully charged. Sometimes more, sometime less. And the run arm takes so long to charge up from empty, I want to pre charged as much as possible. I cannot handle the slow movement of it. Personally I have found particularly for higher level content that the run arm will do much more damage than any of the SLA's will do.

I would definitely swap out toughness for rapid reload.

    I was mistaken about Precision.

Augment Summoning sounds like flavor for you I would just think other than hirelings, you are not going to get much mileage from it.

I would also recommend taking either Slippery Mind or Defensive Roll rather than skill mastery. With your int and so many levels of rogue and arty you will be dumping skill points and with proper gear you won't have any trouble with any trappin skills.

Rapid reload is an automatic feat granted with the Arti levels.

I have never been a fan of slippery mind, I tend to think of it as just a second fail. I mean if I failed the check the first time there is a very good chance I will fail it a second time as well. I could be wrong though.

Defensive Roll? Doesn't that only work when rolling?

I would also suggest dropping Skill Mastery, but I would pick-up Opportunist for the 10% Fortification reduction (which I think stacks with Precision).

Also, I'm not sure spending so many points in Arcanotechnician (other than for Wand and Scroll Mastery) is worth it. I would use those points for Improved Recovery, Heroism/Greater Heroism, and Dragonmarks (at least for Dimension Door). As such, I would drop Augment Summoning (if you're not too married to it) or Toughness, and pick-up the Orien Dragonmark.

The feat opportunist is melee-only. They may stack for melees.

I'm pretty sure that the fortification debuff works with ranged; however, the 3% Doublestrike bonus is melee only.

I was using the Lightning Sphere in Arcano as a stun. Works well at low level, but not sure how well it might work at high levels. I will also have to play in the character planner with the 6 levels of ranger suggestion. But it seems Ranger has a lot that does not do much for a Crossbow user other then enhancements, which are spread pretty tightly as it is.

Is that WAI? Working with Ranged as well? Did not know this--the wiki description says melee but the actual mechanics may be different. I think it ought to work with ranged and also be doubleshot, but that is an 'ought to'

All of the ranged attacks in the Deepwood Sniper tree (Sniper Shot, Leg Shot, and Head Shot) work with Repeaters...not to mention they proc with each bolt. With 6 levels of Ranger...
    - You'll get an additional 3d6 Sneak Attack, which is the same you'll get from those same levels in Rogue
    - Leg Shot ads a ton of crowd control, especially when paired with IPS. And when you can alternate between Leg Shot, Pin (Shiradi), and Otto's Whistler (Shiradi), most mobs won't even get near you
    - Sniper Shot every 6 seconds + an Improved Deception will keep your targets turned around and susceptible to Sneak Attack, a majority of the time
    - First 3 DWS cores extend your Sneak Attack range; so you can stay pretty far out and still be getting max damage
    - 6 Ranger also gives you most ranged feats; the exception being PBS and IPS
    - Depending on your tree layout, you could also fit-in the 3rd tier of Inferno Shot from AA (remembering that it's 3 bolts hitting each volley
    - If it tickles your fancy, you'll also have Manyshot, and with so many characters having a Pinion now, it's probably worth it if you have one too

I don't think you'll find 6 levels of anything else the nets this much.

Yes, I think it's worth it...especially compared to the other option. With my build only having 10 Rogue levels, I just went from Improved Evasion.

I'm pretty sure the debuff does. I've gone back and done some research and was able to find a post by Unbongwah that says it does; and I usually find U to be a pretty reliable source for build information.

yes there is great synergy! I agree with you here. I guess the main loss is that one cannot take also the full assassin line to the level 18 core, which would give vorpals on sneak attacks (as well as further sneak attack dice beyond that which the DS replaces--3d6. Assassin tree gives 4d6, although going 6 levels of ranger does not exclude them). That rogue 18 vorpal also includes ranged attacks. If using a Radiance repeater, those vorpals will proc for a lot of damage. I guess that would be the deciding factor for me.
There are also other bonuses to staying pure rogue, such as the special feats line (mostly for improved skills after Improved evasion) which help UMD etc.
