    Angry Recruitment Vultures

I am interrupting my gameplay to ask those guild members who sit like vultures -- scanning the social "who" page for players without guilds -- to please, please...for the love of Ga'khat...stop it.

I have a couple of toons that I run simply for the sake of generating TP, and have no desire to join your guild, but -- no kidding, I'm hit up at least 10 times daily by members of particular guilds if I "wanna join a guild". There are often repeat requests every day or every other day, from the same person, when both my characters have the exact same surname.
I have tried being nice, I have tried being mean, I have tried ignoring you, but nothing seems to help. If you can't get my attention, you hit me with a blind invite, which can be quite irritating if I'm conversing with an NPC or engaged in battle and cannot free myself to explain that I don't want to join your guild.

I even tried naming myself Dontbugme or Dontpesterme, and the requests have diminished, but they do not stop completely. What would it take to get you to understand that I don't want to join your guild?

There is a guild recruitment page on forums, which I am posting on now, which I think must work quite well, but it still doesn't deter you from trying to recruit me when I'm busy playing.

There are a few people out there in the Harbor or on Korthos, even other areas -- that cry out in game chat how they desperately want to join your guild. You aren't getting requests from me, I know that for sure.

C'mon. Do me a favor. Cut it out. I don't want to join your guild.

My mains are unguilded and I run into much the same problem... going /anon really cuts down on it. They then can't use /who, and must actually be standing next to you to see that you lack a guild tag.

Have you considered creating a guild just for your own characters? It's what I do and I almost never get bothered as I do on every other game I've played. Furthermore, being able to buy hireling contracts and a few other things at the guild discount is a nice little perk.

If he's VIP, yeah, that's an option.

If he's F2P/Premium and grinding, though, 150 TP for a charter can be a little much.

Agree, this has been happening a lot more to me recently. Which is why I have resorted to using the /anon command.

and it's usually little guilds who just want you to level their blasted guild for them. you can disable this, i think it's per-character: hit # or escape for options, click UI settings on the right, and scroll down to "Accept Guild Requests". untick that box. this should work, good luck with it

On my unguilded chars, I /squelch anyone who send me a blind guild invite. God! How I wish we had /squelch account.

Yes, grinding for TP while Premium gets tiresome, so I've been loathe to spend TP on a guild just to keep people from bugging me. I'm already in two very non-pushy guilds, so I'm happy with that.

Thalone and Rubix. Thanks, I never knew there was an /anon command. I usually remember to tick the "do not accept guild requests" box when I'm on the Airship Heart of Wind, but sometimes forget. Still, it's hard to get around the ones who stand around in Korthos and the Harbor looking for fresh meat. You know they're not there for the food, and you can /squelch them, but then there's the alts...

Generally, I'm pushing the same recycled toon through the fastest quests in Korthos and the Harbor for 25-50 TP every day (earning that Shared Bank space I sorely need). The character changes a little here and there to relieve the monotony, but the one thing that never changes is my name. You'd think they'd start to remember it after a while.

It kind of reminds me of this guy I used to meet occasionally through my work. Apparently, he suffers from the lack of facial pattern recognition, so he never remembers a face. Every couple of weeks, he'd introduce himself to me, and I'd have to let him know that we'd met before. It must be some kind of special hell to go through that all your life.

if any of your guildies are VIP then they could help you set up a guild for free. all they need is one unguilded alt who can found the guild then invite you and pass the control over.

if guildies wont help then some stranger might, seen it offered enough times.

you should hit lvl5 soon enough then you can mail invite tokens to your next farmer.
