Stalwart Defender and Rage

Ok I looked all throught the latest Known issue list and the wiki under Stalwart Defender and can not find any place listed why SD is uneffected by rage. Is this WAI or should I bug report this?

It's working as intended. Stalwart Defender (and defender of Siberys) are immune to rage effects while in stance. I don't remember exactly when but it has been that way for quite a while.

most stances will prevent rage from applying, i found this out the hard way. sibery defender, combat expertise etc...usually the perm. stances (no expire time). hope this help you. have a great day

Right and everything I have been asking in advice channel reflect these's sentiments but there is no offical listing where this is said, NOT even in the description in game. So we are supposed to accept this as WAI since it is listed absolutly no where? I say either change the description to reflect this or fix it so SD is not immune. Thanks.

You are unaffected by offensive spells/spell-like abilities (confirmed on Adrenaline, not Tensers or Gloves of the Titan) while you are in a defensive stance. This is WAI

Yes you can use Titan's glove's just tested it in game and I also looked through all the descriptions in game/WIKI/Known Issue list so if you could site your source for this information except your 2 cents/insight I would love to see where this information is listed. Thanks.

Can't find the thread where people discussed it, but the Defensive Fighting and the Combat Expertise DDOWiki page both say they dispell and ward against rage and other effects. I found this out while on a 12/6/2 fighter

Ok again you quote just people talking about it and that doesn't make it WAI and even the links you sent me say that those two ward against rage where as SD does not say anywhere that it does and going alittle further if you say stances do this then power attack should to correct? Since it is listed under the combat stances!!

actually, it is only the defensive stances that prevent rage. These include defensive fighting, combat expertise, defender of syberis stance, and stalwart defender stance.

That is true, the defensive stances prevent rage and rage like effects such as the rage spell, the adrenaline ability from fury of the wild (as it makes you raged until your next attack), and madstone rage from both the madstone boots and the proc effect in madstone crater. Effects like Tenser's, and the gloves of titans grip, are NOT rage effects, and are not prohibited by any of the defensive stances.

When you look at stalwart description did you click + sign for drop down on stalwart stance. Im almost positive it says you cannot be affected by rage and rage like spells. I know dos does. You use to be able to go out of stance click your boots for madstone go back intp stance and keep the rage. I think they fixxed that tho. Kind of makes sense tho. You are supposed to be a controlled bastion of defense out thinking its opponent not a bloodthirsty savage hell bent on kill or be killed.

The tanky stances on the wiki are just quotes... DDO doesn't state it, but tooltips don't state a lot of things.

This. When you go into the SD Defensive Stance in-game, you get a message in your dialogue box stating that you are warded against Rage effects.

You will notice this phrase:

"All Defensive Stances, however, whether they be from the Defender of Siberys or the Stalwart Defender, are not compatible with various "enrage" effects. (Rage effects do not permit "any abilities that require patience or concentration", which is pretty much a description of Defensive Stance.) Rather than kicking you out of your Defensive Stance if a friend casts Rage on you, we chose to instead make you immune to the Rage spell while in a Defensive Stance. If you're enraged when you enter Defensive Stance, the enrage effect will be removed."

So I task to you to tell me where in this text does it say that I'm warded against rage. Now I get what you are saying about the SD being a bastion of blah blah but what I'm trying to say is that this is either WAI or fix the code to make it work right. Either way it need's to get on the known issue list.

Edit: I did see it in the combat log(2 lines among the 200 other lines) and as I stated above I really don't care which way it goes It just needs to be stated more clearly in the descriptions somewhere.

I think this was text that was removed when they made the pass on the Movement Speed of the Defensive Stances. It use to be 1/4, 1/3 and 1/2 as you progressed up the chain. Now it is a straight -10%.

So it looks like only in the original discussions is this text left. I do agree that this text would be important to list for all Defensive Stances such as SD's, DoS's, CE and DF.

The text should be clarified so that this question stops coming up.

Most rage effects increase your damage taken in some way (-10% fortification, -2 AC, or some other similar effect). As such it shouldn't be much of a surprise that Defenders are immune to these effects when in a defensive stance.

The 6 Str and 6 Con attached to tier 3 stances is meant to make up for the loss of 2 Str and 2 Con from the Rage spell (the only one of the Rage effects that players generally have active more than half the time at level cap).

You can go ahead and bug report it. It is WAI, so they will just update the text at some point to reflect this.

I dont know about the Fighter one, but Im pretty sure Defender of Siberys mentions the rage effect.

Has anyone bug reported this for Fighter?
