Why so many Toughnesses instead of the THF feats? You're a pure barb - if you're sacrificing DPS, you're doing it wrong.

3 toughnesses? for a barb? Barb's one of those classes which the least needs toughness. You're much better off taking the THF line. And as for toughness, well... Replace Stunning blow with it or sacrifise Overwhelming Critical epic feat (assuming epic feats would be Greater cleave and OC).

Unfortunately I don't have the time to say this in a nice constructive way, but will revisit the thread another time. In brief:

Your DPS is probably decent, but not 'master' level. Too many toughnesses. For consistent 'standard' damage LD gets my vote over FOTW. And no barb build can claim to be master DPS without Overwhelming crit.

    new feat list:
    power attack
    cleave
    stunning blow
    Improved Critical (Slashing)
    toughenesss
    toughenesss
    toughenesss
    overwhelming critical
    great cleave

OK! i think that the two handed fighting feats are quite lame. why would you ness glancing blows when you DPS is so high anyway? if u wanna hit ppl. in front of u even HARDER then use (great, supreme)[cleave]. thats what it is meant for. so overwhelming crit is pretty boss. toughness provides about 200 hp or somethign and THF is jsut lame like I said since you gain rage bonuses or something... and this build does more damage than my temepst build does. both kick butt though and sorcerer will be posted soon. HP should reach high numbers while raging. cant tank but ccan deal EXTREME amounts of dps with your trusty great axe/sword or falchion.

Why would you spend 4 destiny points on 2 pts of str increase? This turns out to be +1 damage per hit for simplicity sake. Glancing blows will hit for like 80-120 a pop why would you sacrifice that much dps for 50-100 hp? Glancing blows also proc frenzy damage 100% of the time afaik. So put into perspective the sacrifices you are making for a couple pts of damage here and there. And compare them to the damage you get out of glancing blows. Anyhow thats why you take the THF feats...significant dps increase

are you blind? you get all ranks of glancing blows and bonuses from your raging stuff. if you think about it, cleave will hit what about 600 per hit? i think thats more than 80-120. and it is 161 HP from toughness, with DR and rage and all, it will be good. and STR is not from 4 pts in ED its from another thing, i forget the name.

GB proc on cleaves/etc. They also proc on your single target - not just (if) any mobs around you.

Capstone Barb with GTHF gets GBs with 60% base damage on 3 out of 4 swings. This is a HUGE chunk of dps. Lets say: 60% * 75% - 30% * 50 % = 30% extra damage on top of your main/cleave/etc base damage.

Second Vicious procs on all GBs. So GTHF which adds the 3rd GB out of 4 swings adds 6d6 extra vicious damage out of 4 swings.

If you want to come on here asking for advice, don't poo poo it, especially from a position of ignorance. From your last post I'm pretty sure you don't know what you think you know. It's all good though, I went through the same phase. Funny looking back at it. lol

Glancing Blows start at 20% base. You get 10% from each of the three thf feats(30%). 10% more from Barb capstone. Possibly 9% more from Fury of the Wild ED if you decide to go with it. Cleave/Great Cleave/Supreme Cleave all proc glancing blows on each hit compared to normal attacks procing glancing blows on the first and third swings.

HP is a nonissue for Barbarians. You'll have over 1k with poor gear with just 1 toughness and enhancements(if you have EDs). With great gear you'll have almost 1.2k or maybe more depending on your destiny. An extra 54 is just about meaningless, and here it's detrimental since you're giving up 2 feats on a feat-starved class. Even more detrimental if you plan on somehow getting 161 hp from your toughness feats and enhancements(total ap waste!).

Where do you even get these numbers? Cleave will not hit 600 per hit-not on a regular basis anyway.
ME BARB, ME SMA-ok I stand here with pretty blue lines around me. ok I take damage. ok bye.

I've refrained from posting any type of Barb guide due to the fact its been so heavily done by everyone. From what I can see you don't know a whole lot about the class.

He is correct. Glancing blows hit for 120 a pop(assuming you use barbarian class rages....)

I will tell you right now a measly 160 hp from toughnesses is a complete waste. That's one hit from a normal mob in EE.

Heroic level feats in no particular order:

    Cleave
    Greatcleave
    Improved crit
    Thf
    Ithf
    Gthf
    Power attack

    Epic level feats:

    Overwhelming critical
    *Optional*

If you do no have the above feats on a barb, the build is in no way a "DPS master".

Someone already pointed out the obvious HUGE DPS loss from not picking up the THF-line.

Here's another vote for the THF line.

When stationary or cleaving, the THF line is a massive DPS increase both on your main target and surrounding foes. The real question Barbarians are asking is "One toughness, or skip it altogether?"

The 2 extra toughnesses are 27 hp apiece at lv 25, for a grand total of 54 hp. The first toughness is worth more, but Barbarians are swimming in hp.

Highest DPS setup for a barb?

    PA
    Cleave
    THF
    ITHF
    GTHF
    IC: Slash
    Power Critical
    Great Cleave
    (take 2 fighter)
    Stunning Blow
    Improved Sunder
    Overwhelming Critical

Power Critical? With a Gaxe and in Dread, you'll have a x9 crit. +18 damage on a crit is..well, it's dps. As for the 2 fighter? I figure having both of those tacticals is more important in a real world application than the capstone.

And you still have 1k+hp raged.

I wouldn't pick Power Critical, or splash either. I think it's the OP's decision what to pick as the last feat: Toughness, Stunning Blow or Improved Sunder

I only suggest splashing because I personally don't care for barbs and with that much strength I'd love to have both of those tactics at my disposal. The power critical is a kind of tongue in cheek feat to take, but I still see it as semi-free dps at all times.

Personally, I think a paladin is capable of more dps. However, this logic is based on the idea that Paladins gained a massive boost to their survivability (endless LOH). And as we all know, your dps is 0 when youre dead.

    Question Power Crit?

Surely you'd take Power Attack over that feat first?

Even if you aren't doing the Orc or W/F additonal PA enhancement line, PA is a prereq for some of the Legendary Dreadnought abilites (momentum swing and lay waste), which you might well want to twist in even if not running that ED.

My barb is human, and as has been said, that leaves me with two "optional" feats.

Personally, I went toughness and epic toughness for 77 more hp (97 if you count the two cheap 1EP increases in toughness enhancements made possible by toughness). I'd tried stunning blow earlier (before the supreme cleave nerf), but found I was too busy spamming cleaves to remember to hit the **** button often enough to make it worthwhile! (I know, duh!), LOL.

I might think about going back to it again now though, as I do now have whole slew of hit-points (can a barb ever really have enough, though? ) and am hitting a lot more clickies in combat anyway now, compared to just the SC spam button when I last tried it out. Maybe improved trip or improved sunder to go along with that would be interesting: that Vs nearly 100hp, something to think about...

PA over PC for me, though - every time!
