    Default Monk Gear?

People are probably getting a little tired of me asking questions.. but this should be hte last one, probably, promise!

I finally settled on a monk, going shintao, since dark monks are apparently hard to do without tomes (which I have none of, MAD and whatnot)

32 points, half-elf, cleric dilly to help alleviate lack of times leading to low UMD; probably earth stance, turtle up, high crits. Focusing on wiz, I guess.

Anyhow, I can't seem to find a good list of "get this" monk gear, some sporatic lists here and there, but they seem to just have.. gaps.

So far I have, or know I need to get

Scorched handwraps (which I would have totally missed had someone not recommended them to me last night)
    Devotion
    Garments of Equilibrium
    Vampiric Dust stone handwraps.
    Jitz'Tetka

.. outside of that, no idea.

So.. does anyone have a list of gear that I should be on the look out for/prepared to farm? Just so I don't miss anything

Get yourself a robe of invulnerability for low levels. It will make your life so much easier.

Level 16 Frozen Tunic (tier 1 is fine, or tier 3 if you wanna use Masterful Craftmanship shards to lower the minimum level to 14).

Fabricators Gauntlets + Fabricators Bracers (upgraded - min level 18). While not monk gear specifically, these are great items, and handwrap attack speed makes combat infusion a lot more consistent.

Sun Soul Belt, Bracers and Tunic (min level 20). Fantastic set with a good set bonus. You can replace the Vestements with Spider-Spun Capaprison when you get enough PDK favor to make it part of the set.

Grave Wrappings (Min level 20) Arguably some of the best handwraps in the game. Other good handwraps that are a lot more time and luck intensive to get are Alchemical Handwraps and Tharaak Wraps, with Ivy Wraps getting a good mention as well.

EDIT: For low levels a simple crafted Screaming of Bleeding handwrap set will likely outperform any of the named wraps you can find for general purpose DPS. I am a fan of Eternal Rest for lowbie vampire/incorporeal enemies, and as said before me Invulnerability, and eventually lifeshield of invulnerability tunics for carrying me through low levels. I also make use of 3 piece abishai and later the Claw and Siren sets from red fens.

If you have the time and inclination make yourself some Wraps of Endless Night when Mabar goes back up again. Multiple levels' worth if you're really keen.

All ^ this is great advice as you rise in levels.

I am very fond of the Charged Gauntlets from Chronoscope for its potent electrical burst.

Remember that WIS becomes more and more important as you level as it determines your successes in most Shintao and general Monk abilities such as Stunning Fist, AC, and Tainted attacks. Keep STR and DEX in general balance (a little more DEX for AC never hurts) and you're going to have a lot of fun. Be wary that the Fabricator's set generates Threat, and some Monks may become a little more surprised when more monsters chase them after getting hit by a Monk wearing them. Earth Stance is best for them; the chance of crits increases their chance of the Infusion going off and you're more able to withstand damage in Greater/Ultimate Earth Stance.

For bonus points, a White Dragonscale Robe from 20 White scales in Gianthold Tor is comparably easy to attain and very handy into Epic levels. These improved versions are better than the Icy Raiment, a popular outfit that is challenging to grind for, as well as the Dragontouched Vestments, also a hard one to build.

In addition to Wraps of Endless Light, save good handwraps to add Icy Burst effects for the next Risia festival, and get the Brawling Gloves from Crystal Cove (whenever we see that event again).
