Drop rates that low may be impossible to calcuate .....
You see in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
... you may buy the needed items / components / shards / you name it... directly in the DDO shop, for a helluva of TP. Of course there would still technically remain the chance for you to find the looked after item in any corresponding loot, but the chances would still be remote. So technically the game would still be f2p. And even the VIPs finally would get squeezed for their money.

Unlike some people, I don't believe that the folks at Turbine are incompetent. I've also observed that everything they have done over the last six years in both DDO and LotRO has been to make the game more accessible to casual players.
So I see no reason to believe there is going to be some plan to change loot drops because of this new item. Turbine has given no reason to believe they have any interest in turning their games into Asian style grinders, where you can't succeed without spending money on shortcuts.
I would love to see what the drop rates actually are? and if they are changing
Someone did post Desert Epics drop rates ages ago but i never found out if they were authentic or not
They were amusing tho. Especially drop rates for Shard of RoSS. Well not actually a drop rate more of a not going to drop rate
This was mostly intended as a joke thread, there are two others for serious discussion. But i'm gonna answer this because it brings up few good points.
True, there are no evidence that the drop rates will be lower/were lowered, considering that we don't even know what the drop rates are. But that there is some evidence pointing in that direction, lower epic token drops since they are easier to get, lowering xp of some quests with the introduction of bb and xp tomes...
Casual players will feel the downside more then the other, considering that they probably don't have time to ransack a raid in a day.
Then, it raises the question why do we even have raid timers then?
Like i said, there is no evidence, that's why i started this thread more or less as a joke.
Oh and to that one easily offended person, i'm sorry that we don't have a compatible sense of humor, i admit it wasn't a good joke, but they can't all be grade A material.
