    Default Heeelp! Time is money!

    Tr'd my monk last night and left him on the boat in anticipation of xp boost week. Gear is all set to go and just waiting for the work horn to blow... then it hit me...do I go 23 base strength for OC or 23 wisdom base for VS?

    I know VS isn't working atm, but it will one day, but then again I've been making strength based characters for so long I don't know if a 23 wisdom base is worth it.

    I would love to see a debate between the two choices, but you need to hurry, the horn sounds in 2 hours :P Blond or Brunette?

    Thx
    Someone asked, “How is the sword of wisdom before it is whetted?” Shuiyan said, “Can’t be used.” The questioner continued, ” How is it after it is whetted?” Shuiyan said, ” Can’t be touched.”

    OC is hard to fit on a pure monk due to the high feat cost. Plus you also have another excellent Epic feat available (Improved Martial Arts). When I LR'd my monk after U14, I went 19 WIS before tomes so I can pick up VS with a +4, and the rest into STR. Picked IMA for 21, and I'll just pick something for 24 and swap once I get the +4.

    VS=5 dmg/hit + slashing dr
    OC=+(.1)x dmg/hit, where x=average damage per hit

    If endgame you will do >50 physical damage a hit, OC is more strait dps. However, VS is ~10-30 dmg/hit against zombies.

    Looking at it fluff-wise however, you can either:
    Hit mobs a little harder in vital spots,
    ~OR~
    Punch peoples heads off.
    .
    .
    .
    Your choice should be obvious

    On a pure monk I think that the feat requirements are too steep to really consider OC. The 3 (or 2 if Shintao monk) feats wasted/spent for OC could be used on a number of really good things, including but not limited to: Improved Sunder, Precision, and Past-life: Monk.

    Go with enough Wis to get 23 after level-up boosts and tomes, then put the rest into strength. Epic feats of VS and IMA, and you're all set.

    Was wondering if its still viable for a monk to take a few fighter levels to fit in all the feat goodness (18/2)?

    ...also, any advantages the druid dilly can offer over cleric?
