    Default Theorybuild -

Ok, here's a hodge podge of idea's and possibilities and I'd like to say right now that I'm expecting some kind of gimp/flavour/non-optimal build at the end of all this, but hell here goes.

Sireth, the new Spear/Quarterstaff, is pretty freaking awesome. I like it not only for being a really good twohander, or even a really good Quarterstaff, but because of it's angelic nature/flavour/devs offhand carelessly considered sentence of forcing me to build yet another monstrosity of a character.

So the base Concept is an 'Angelic' character wielding this Spear of Heaven. I mean, c'mon, Lightning Strike and Cloudburst on the same weapon? Woo!

To take a step back or two, about the best QStaff build I came up was something along the lines of a 13 Rogue/6 Monk/1 Druid Thief-Acrobat with ShadowDancer ED and a nice set of LD twists. It primarily went for the Improved Feint/Cleave/Great Cleave/Lay Waste Combo of spamming AoE Melee Attacks, high Doublestrike ability (20%-35%!) and then feeding off the Lightning Strike/Cloudburst procs from the staff.

But it's a freaking Rogue, with Druid in the build.

So like, where's the wings? Where's my inner Astral Diva in this build? Where can I get off being all-holier-than-thou?

Exalted Angel as a destiny gives me a nice 'Im a Frickin' Angel, bite me!' angle on the build, the free DR Bypass and Leap of Faith puts the Angel in any build. Beyond that, well, the Destiny is not very Melee friendly even with a variety of twists. Does the pseudo-Leap of Faith ability even look like the FvS ability of the same name?

Grandmaster of Flowers is very cool, love the defining Ranged Ki abilities, Drifting Lotus is freaking awesome and Everything is Nothing is just the "I rule, you lose" ability in game

Legendary Dreadnought has some cracking abilities for a Qstaff user as well. Lightning Mace proc for +15% Doublestrike. Oh-my. Love the Lightning theme on top of the Angel theme.

But what about the base class? Go Favoured Soul? Or Go Monk? Throw in some Rogue anyway for TA goodness and Sneak Attack? Paladin for more gimpy flavour!? (Because going Two-handed and small crit range is so suitable for the paladins Smite abilities *sigh*).

Feats is a choc mess as well in all this. Spellcaster with a Melee-Dash or full on Melee AoE destroyer.

I'm going to chew over these while I walk home and see what other fantasy ideas I can dream of.

    Arrrrgrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    Thoughts? Comments? Help? Prayers? Anyone?

    Some rogue definitely:
    TAI: 10% attack speed boost
TAII: 5% attack speed boost, 10% move speed, knockdown immunity
So TAI has more DPS but TAII has more utility.

As it stands 13 rogue/6 monk/1 Druid/5 legendary dreadnought is the best acrobat build around, IMO but its still not that amazing, end of the day, it's still using a stick when you could be using 2 (referring to the massive amounts of SA that youre missing out on compared to a TWF'ing pure assassin).

For your concept I'd just to pure favoured soul/exalted angel, halfelf (rogue dilettante) and hope that you can pick up acrobat PrE when the enhancement pass goes live, until then you can just be a FvS.

Cheers WoWo for the only input

Tongue-in-cheek, I think I'm going to sentence myself to some a few weeks of soloing a gimpy 12 Monk/7 Rogue/1 Fighter Half-Elf build using Grandmaster of Flowers and some LD twists.

35% Double-strike on Sireth with 21.5% permanent Alacrity and its groovy new Cloudburst (10% Sonic Damage AoE) effect strikes me as potentilly fun, even if I'm gimp to the bone. Oh with Double Cleaves. Yadda yadda yadda.

Did I mention the build is probably going to be gimp. I'm cool with that.

I tried, but just couldn't bring myself to want to play someone who would be expected to heal in a group. *Sigh*. Wings are very cool and all that..... but no, I don't enjoy healing.
