not if they offer it for a high price, i dont think that would be a game breaker, especially if they kept hire ai the same cuz there will also be many people who dont want to buy "that stupid hire" and instead try and get a pug member.

Also if that were the case, current hires would be already have your job, augment summoning + (wiz, clr, arti, ect) buffs, and your good to go.

Gold seal hires, you can make a party full of them and no one can say anything about it (i've done it before myself, wasnt pretty for the hires, but it was fun)

If they make scalable hires for 2000 tp, then i think maybe 40% of the player base would purchase, maybe more, but not so many that the game would be broken.

also like i said dont treat them like regular gold seals, you can only have one in party per person, they will count as a summoned creature (so those who use summons will be s.o.l maybe less incentive for everyone owning them). but you can have a vendored hire along with that
so party can look something like this

    panther
    summoned hire
    vendor hire
    yourself
    party member
    party members hire

Don't even need to make it that complicated. As I stated before, just introduce a suitably expensive 'platinum seal' that is just the exact same hire as you could currently buy for plat or as a gold seal, the only difference is platinum seals would have no expiration...meaning that if you want to make a full party of platinum seal hires, and are willing to spend thousands of TP to buy a full set of hires at that particular level, go for it. No different than filling up your party with gold seals, except they would cost a heck of a lot more.

You mean we could actually have a hireling with mass heal AND quicken?

    The world would end.

as dumb as the hires are mass heal and quicken probably wouldn't make a difference, even if you revert to the old style of having to micromanage your hire while playing the game (what a drag that was)

level 20 hirelings has about as much concentration as a squirrel with adhd. A slight breeze breaks their concentration, never mind getting hit in combat with an arrow to the knee.
