Druid past life: 2x terrible = terrible still

To whom it may concern:

Doubling the druid past life to +2 to pet stats is surely better than what it was before, but it is still terrible. There is a reason that the only ones to take Augment summoning are artificers with too many feats than they know what to do with it.

Please, whoever is in charge of it, at least add another 3pts of energy resistance per life (stacking with ranger past life), so it is not completely worthless.

Plain and simple, Druid class is rubbish.
Hey maybe they will get their own Epic destiny path when all the bugs are fixed.

Finally got mine to level 20 after 2 reincarnate rebuilds.

Bottom line, shape shifting and the bear dance is all a Druid has to offer.

A Cleric or FvS pure can out dps, out heal and out solo a Druid easily.
A fighter or rogue can easily out dps it.
Artificer is a much nicer class and brings far more to groups.

Druid, what does it actually bring to a group.................nothing, a few weak heals, lack of spells, spell slots all taken up with lame summon monster spells.
Level 9 spells are lame at the best, snow slide.... sucks, the Dryad summon pet sucks.

The Druid is not even on par with any other class, it is way below average.
Quickly and poorly entered into DDO as a quick sell feature to drum up some interest.

Druid = gimp of DDO 3/10 for value.

It's really hard to take your commentary at all seriously when you don't understand that these spell slots that are "all taken up" are BONUS SLOTS THAT YOU WOULD NOT OTHERWISE BE GETTING. The alternative to those lame summon monster spells is not the ability to plug in the spell you want, but no slot at all.

puppy buffs:
druid past lives = +6 to all stats
augment summoning = +4 to all stats, 50% fort, increased health
magister destiny grand summoner = +4 to all stats, 50% fort, increased health, +40% movement speed
magic fang = +5 damage/tohit
pack presence = -75% hate (make it easier on the tank to keep agro I guess)
harrowing pack = +2 to hit when flanking (which they probably will be doing)
pack aptitude = +6 to a stat of your choice (in this case str)
various mass stat buffs = +4 to stats
animal growth = +4 to str/con
blood moon frenzy (if you kill something every 15 seconds) = +40% movement speed, +20% attack speed
Twist primal scream = +5 str/con (may not be affected by this)

total buffs
+33 (!) str
+27 con
+18 to all other stats
+ hp (total HD)x2 +4
+7 to hit (-2 if not flanking)
+5 damage
+80% movement speed
+100% fort
+20% attack speed
-75% hate

That's not counting bard/fatesinger buffs, and haste (not counting it since this character won't be casting it).

well said i feel exactly the way you do after lvling 3.5mill exp so far.. as a caster druid.

i'll be happy when i hit 20 and the suffering ends and i tr into a arti.. that way my 3x sorc life actually means something.

+2 to ability is nice i guess if the arti dog is at least a bit better then the wolf wich is obviously rubish..

Druids are all about heals over time: I think a passive regen of 1hp / 5 secs per past life feat would be fair.

Nothing game breaking at late game but a nice perk from 1-10.

The Druid as a solo / small group class is OK. As a large party or raid member they are quite weak and do not offer a lot to contribute.

The passive past life feat is poor (even assuming the +2 bump) and basically offers no incentive for players to want to get more.

Eh- it's a situational buff. It's half a feat, like most of the past lives (if they bump it to +2- +1 it's a little sad). I'd say it's best for a druid, who can have 3 or so buddies, so reincarnating as a druid you'll see the most benefit. For all that people think past lives are incredible even the barbarian is only 10 hit points- while it's a buff, much like the +2 to stats of pets it's a buff that's best at low levels and won't be very noticeable at high levels. When 10 hit points is 1/6 of your hp it's amazing, when characters have 500-1000 hp it's marginalized.

If you're a pet class, or use hirelings, +2 to the stats of those is not bad. If you stack it up to +6 and take the augment summoning that's +10 to the stats of your hirelings which is 5 hp/ to hit/ damage/ more sp etc every level. It may not be a past life for the raiders out there who don't use hirelings or pets, but it doesn't seem worthless.

Seems that a Pale Master who was big into summoning undead may get a bit out of it....but 3 druid lives to get +6 seems a bit excessive. Also, if the Pale Master could summon a "legion" of undead, that would boost it...but without the Druid or the Pale Master being able to summon more than....one summons (and one wolf if druid), it seems a bit under powered.

Yeah just one of those things. Not amazing, but in all reality I think it's more useful for people who solo and are doing completionist activities than a person keeping a character at level 25. The benefit to hirelings is definitely legitimate.

I would think the benefit here would be for two types of players:
Soloers who like hirelings (I'm one of those at the moment cause it's hard to find groups regularly)
People using charm magic

Charming one of the kobolds in a group of 10 can be helpful; it removes one from attacking us and makes it attack the enemy, but if it suddenly got a boost of +10 to all stats the instant it's charmed then it'd be wailing on its buddies pretty effectively.

...but I guess that'd also be giving it a +5 will boost to break the charm early, which is not so good

1/2 the benefit of one of the worst feats in the game is hardly something anyone will be bothering with outside of those running druid to get completionist.

Yeah sure, and what level are you... 7?
Ive taken it to level 20, both forms.
Try running an elite ritual sacrifice as the bear and tell me it was a fast fun quest for you.
I had taken all the shield feats, 3x natural weapons, everything I could to try make the bear feel faster at attack speed.
It was so slow, almost like a bug in the graphics animation.
You know the attack the bear does when it stands on its hind legs for the big swipe.. it takes so long to go through the animation. If a mob moves slightly, you miss. I also noticed if you roll low, it will miss with all 3 attacks, not sure if it was lag or just buggy or the mob had moved out of range, but I can say the quest took forever.

Look I love the idea of Druid, I just wish it had more to offer.
