    Default A bl**dy disgrace

    /rant on

I watched the England vs France football (some say soccer) match earlier and quitr frankly Im appalled.

Not with the skills of either side, but with the conduct.

IMO these people does not deserve the honour to represent their countries.

    Let me explain...........

is it sportsmanlike to pull on anothers players shirt hard enough to pull them over and then complain 5 mins later when its done to you?

Is it sportsmanlike to claim a throw in when it clearly should go to the opposite side

Is it sportsmanlike to dive to the floor and roll around as if you been hit by a car when the replay clearly shows you werent even touched

Is it sportsmanlike to racially abuse a fellow player

    Its a disgrace!

Many children wish to become footballers, yet as role models most (not all) are found wanting through gambling, immoral behaviour and vanity.

Can it be right that such people earn more in one week than a surgeon that saves peoples lives earns in a year.

    apologies to footy lovers

Ok so we may have had a little bit the worse of the Refs decisions.

But i'll take the point. Reasonably well organised and Welbeck/Young looked a handful

So not sure what your rant is about, ive seen a lot lot worse ?

I noticed this grow worse in each of the last 2 World Cups. Players have turned the matches into flailing contests over the slightest amount of contact without really being hurt. To me, it has turned into who can fall down with the most style and drama.

I no longer give the benefit of the doubt when a player appears to be hurt anymore until I see a replay where you can note the conduct. Seems to me this is done to try and throw the refs off as they are limited in what they see.

Soccer has always been my sport. Between the poor-sportsmanship and diving I'm really embarrassed to be associated with the sport any more.

The little nicks and grabs here and there is hard to enforce, but I'd love to see a small panel of referees hand out post-match penalties for egregious dives.

Regardless, it's becoming a filthy shameful sport, I hate it.

Yeah all footballers have been doing that for years.

But tonights game wasnt a particularly bad example at all

You must have seen it all before.

Their was no racist abuse on the pitch, most of the Western European teams have no problems with that. I do fear what might happen with some supporters/locals in later matches

Anyhow 95% of these forumites are US types and as far as they are concerned you play football with your hands !!
