Someone just told me that 1 blue dragonscale worth 2 black dragonscale?

Blue is **** good. Spell pen VII, potency VII and most importantly greater arcane lore.

White is terrible. Moderate fort, +4 prot, caster level ONE shield clickie

Black varies. Ranged alacrity 10% on docent/leather at least means it beats white, and wizardry V/Gevoc focus means the robe is OK.

Blue is good in and of itself, white/black are generally just used for people looking to change it's color to red.

Thats why I'm trying to get all the blue dragonscale that I need to craft blue dragonscale robe for my FvS. It's too cool to ignore.

Blue Robe/docent vs Elven Robe/Docent
Spell pen VII vs Minor spell pen VI (a decent bump. I've never found Spen to be an issue)
Potency VII vs nothing (clickies anyway, 20% spell boost is a trap)
greater arcane lore vs arcane lore (9%/.25 vs 6%/.25)
nothing vs evocation focus (probably have greater at this point but nice perk maybe)
20 scales (quite a bit) vs 10 relics (almost nothing)
ML14 vs ML10


A spell pen item for destruction. 3% more crits on BB and DP.

It's slightly better, but it's also a LOT more expensive or time consuming to get and 4 levels higher as well.
