Quicken is taken by wizards as they don't have the inherent casting speed that a sorc has.

I suppose a sorc could take quicken for uninterrupted heals. Though I can't ever think of a time I was ever interrupted casting a ball, or a heal scroll. And with feats id want a handful of other choices before I'd choose quicken if they gave sorc's 1 or 2 more slots.
