I Need Build Advice

After trying and failing at a pale master, I decided to make a sorcerer. I always liked using ice storm better than firewall, and want to make a sorcerer that mainly uses ice spells with a dabbling in force. I'm not sure if there's even a savant for that. I can't seem to find any useful posts to help me research how to build a good sorcerer, let alone one focusing on cold spells. Please help. Maybe some links to good sorcerer discussions?

Perhaps try Earth Savant as an alternative? Acid Rain is an amazing substitute for firewall and in many situations is superior. Also this gives you the flexibility to have firewall as a backup as it is still the best tool for use against many undead.

My formula for a sorcerer to maximize fun and effectiveness at the moment is:
Levels 1-5: dual acid spray/burning hands
Levels 6-17: Earth Savant with secondary in fire
Level 18+ (or whenever you finish in necro 4 and go to vale of twilight): change to an end game option.

End game options (IMO):
Water Savant with lightning secondary spec
Air Savant with cold secondary spec
Earth Savant with cold secondary spec

Which ever way you look at it cold spells are going to play a part at end game, just depends what you like.

Unfortunately Eledar's Electric Surge and Niacs Biting Cold are so powerful that it just isn't optimal to not make at least some use of both of them (on my earth savant I still have 1 point in lightning and Eladars Electric Shrge for instance).

But doesn't acid rain take forever to cast and only lasts a very short time? Although cold and electric sounds enticing.

I'm a level 19 sorc at the moment, I went Water Savant with a few death spells (FoD, PW Kill, Disintegrate) but after acquiring all the cold spells I could I took acid and crowd control like cloud kill, web, otto's, etc
