WF Acid Savant and epic DCs

So i am thinking about TR-ing a bard into a WF acid savant, that is the only past life he's going to have. I'm not quite sure though about the feats, I've seen Power Word Kill and Web are both Conjuration spells just like most Acid damage spells, i'd like to be able to land both in the easier epics if that's possible? How would i go about choosing the feats here? Is it worth it going for a spell pen feat or should i just go for SF or GSF:conjuration only?

None of the Acid related DPS spells are subject to spell pen, but some of them are subject to DC saves. PWK is a conjuration spell that is not subject to DC saves but is subject to spell pen.

Given the recast timer on PWK limiting its usefulness I'd advocate for SF/GSF Conjuration

1st life WF earth savant is the best because you really don't need to worry anything about spell pen.

i got a 39 web/acidblast DC, 45 DC earthgrab, you got irresistable for additional CC, mindfog/discoball for EDA or ecrono anything you need to cc, and can web in addition.

as for spell pen, earthgrab, sla acid arrow/acid blast, dragon bolt, and acid rain all don't have any checks, you're the king in epics with drow, unless you get some crazy multilife wiz's in party. you can use pwk when needed, but you don't really have a good hold or finger, and the sp check for energy draining certain mobs is annoying, but who needs to drain em when you can just blast them to pieces.

i have a 36 sp rain and dragon bolt with the enhancments for reducing maximize/empower, you can keep blasting long after other mages run out of sp.

i do have secondary ice, but moved points away from it, as i really wasn't using it, even the dot. you can stack dragon bolt, acid arrow, and keep rain going for nice boss dps, although you won't quite match an air/water savant stacking niacs/eladars.

feats are:

empower
maximize
heighten
toughness
sf conj
gsf conj
extend or quicken [i swaped to extend with no regrets]

you do need your tod set, and 5 piece abashai to really shine, and get your dc's workable for epics, but your certainly functional dps /buffing in the meantime. i use upgraded quorforged docent, with cove dagger and greenblade/skiver in the other hand, with 20 shrouds and a hp item ill top 600hp, also get yugo pots to up your web/cc/hp for when its necessary.

Ya web is awesome in it's own right. Your saves can be less then par and it'll still stick everything. Especially if you carpet the floor with it.

That is the #1 spell for CC to me in epics. Don't have to worry about having 42+saves to hope it works, don't have to worry about someone blinding all the mobs so they become immune to anything that requires eyeballs to work, don't have to run up to things and touch them to make them dance or risk a sexual harassment suit.

And the lineup of feats looks pretty good. Not sure about WF as I know the hold immunity went byebye, but I know on my fleshy I used to have force of personality which I didn't really realize how much it worked until I dropped it for another feat and then I found the hold spell among other will saves landed more often. Course other things can put a fix to most of those.

And I would definitely take extend. For one I never could get why a sorc would take quicken when even a disco ball was a fast cast of about 3 seconds. But when your in epics theirs one thing I know I got that makes me worthwhile. And that's turning the other 5 people (not other mages though lol) into rock solid battle hardened epic ready, 50% miss chance gods. All the while stilling having a nice deep blue bar afterward.

Thanks guys, I will go for SF: conj and GSF: conj then. Btw when you guys said 5 piece abashai are you talking about the regular set? Should i be wearing that in epics?

yes i was reffering to epic 5 piece set. although the epic rock boots for superior corrosion lore is very tempting, trying to think of a way to fit it in until i can make an alchemical triple earth wpn.

for lvling use a sp item and highest lore item you acn find, and drink pots, i don't think theres pots for acid, so i'd just stay fire specced until after necro4. acid does work well for lvling, but you need to have somethign to increse lv4 base spell dmg and crit, and fit in a sp item.
