Default Solo elite devil assault. The system works!

It was a slow day in the server of Argonessen. I decided to join a VoD Party, that one didn't fill.
I decided to take a tour at all vale quests on hard, my party didn't fill.
I decided to go for elite devil assault. After 2 minutes that my party didn't fill I said "Oh heck, I'll just go in there myself and die a few times, that will pass the time".
The result was: I soloed the quest.
Level 18, human, wizard pale master, past life: Sorcerer.
I KNOW it's not a mighty achievement like soloing VoD, but it is a big one for me, so I decided to show off a bit here :P
My tactics: (Yes I know it's basic...) stand in the middle, mind fog + Sphere of dancing - wait for lots of mobs to arrive - wail of the banshee and they all go down. For archers \ wizards that wouldn't approach: Necrotic bolt and necrotic blast. Death aura on at all times.
Fully ship buffed, haste, rage, blur, displacement, protection from elements, greater heroism, jump, nightshield.
    Potion ussage: Zero.
    Hireling usage: Zero.
    Party members usage: Zero.
    Pets usage: Zero.
Note that the screenshot says -10% XP for highest player is lvl 20, quest is lvl 18 - That guy came in while I Was in the middle of the quest (Even though I told him not to...).

    Fighting the last boss

Once I finished the quest I invited my party members inside to get the loot. Funny enough, there were two large devil scales in the chest, one astral diamond, and non of those were mine =P At least I got me some more vendor trash!

    Thank you.
I started with 16 constitution, to begin with. I have Knost's Belt (http://ddowiki.com/page/Knost's_Belt) that gives +6 constitution and greater false life. I also have Bracelet of Thaarak (http://ddowiki.com/page/Bracelet_of_Thaarak) that gives Toughness (+20 stacking HP). Lich form gives +4 constitution. On top of that I have green steel goggles that give 45 stacking HP (And concordant opposition). Finaly I have +2 constitution from ship buff.

If you ask me now, I'd start with 18 constitution. I put some points into charisma for UMD, that turned out rather useless. (14 base charisma)

I'm only not sure what you mean by 'the system works'. In fact, seems it does not work at all.

Gary Gygax spent so much time many years ago creating a system where each character could cover the weakness of the others and have fun together, and now we completely spoil his dream creating monsters with 38 Int that can solo everything as easily as a full group. My Advanced D&D Player's Handbook doesn't even show ability scores above 25 on their charts. It even says that a character above 18 Int is "potentially more clever and more brilliant than can possibly be imagined"..

    ..

LOL. But I'm just kidding. I also love solo play, specially challenges like that.

    Nice job

I think he is happy if we are happy. Change the rules a bit is what a good DM is suposed to do anyways.

If you're impressed by 419hp on a PM you're setting the bar too low. 500 isn't hard to get and 600+ is possible.

Quite true, even without epic items you can go as low as 12 base con on a human palemaster and still brake 500, taking only one toughness feat.

Then again, seeing more casters break 400 is a very good thing.... you see far too many sitting <350.

    Back on topic: Gratz OP.
