I don't know how I got to this conversation, but I found myself trying to explain a guy that a warforged sorcerer as first life is not a good idea, especialy if you go Air savant.
I took that information from reading here in the forum, and after having a lvl 20 drow air savant.
My obvious reson is the lack of DC. Sure, it's only 2 behind human and drow (Human get 19 which with the proper items is rounded up nicely, drow gets extra +1 with the same items, you get what I mean...) - But in high end quests (Amrath) and epic quests those 2 DCs make a big difference. Even as a drow with good gear and decent Charisma I had some problems with mobs evading my spells. So a warforged will have even bigger problem.
I tried to explain to the guy that it is best to play a WF Sorcere with a wizard past life or a sorcerer past life, or both, of course the more sorc past lives is the better (+1 evocation DC passive, up to 3 times... You know.), but he just didn't WANT to listen.
He said something like "Oh but if I start as human sorc I still have less DC than TR!" (What...?).
I tried to explain to him that if he insists on playing a WF Sorcerer as first life, then he should at least go earth savant becuse some acid spells don't have saves, so his DC will matter less. He didn't listen.
After reading this boring question here's my own question:
Was I right? Is it indeed a bad idea to play a warforged sorcerer as first life?
The reson I'm asking this is because for the next time someone argues with me about it, I want to be sure I'm right, I hate misguiding people.
P.S. I know a WF Sorcerer can be GREAT at anything that is not amrath quests and epic quests (Immunities + self heals? Why not?!), my question is focused about epics and those bloody devil quests.
