humm... I see what you mean. it sure can be seen that way. Any idea on how I can make it look exactly like what I wanted to do? meaning to help people find a good rig for a good price easily. I though the title was self explanatory saying this thread is only for people looking to change their computer.

Welcome. Most "computer screw kits" will have stand offs in them both silicon and metal versions.

I try to match metals myself also. brass to brass, tin to tin after reading about old simm chips oxidizing at the pin/connectors due to galvanization (I think), so they'd lose connection. (reseating them normally solved the problem.) Last thing you want to do is lose a ground point just in case. But I don't go out of my way to match them up.

Sometimes a change of computer means a whole new system any more.

You may want to preface with the first line of "I'm not selling anything! This is just information for you."

    Done

btw, do you think that not putting the 3 stand off on the left of the mobo could cause a problem? Since the mobo was 3 inch larger than the previous one.

Default Not sure if it is still relevant but

there was a couple of issues with AMD processors/bios chipsets and ATI video cards.

Might want to check compatibility and known bugs before purchasing these products online to save some hassle with sending units back/credit/etc.

Just my 2cp from personal experience.

It depends on the case. Those are normally used to keep the mother board from the metal case (that board on the case will short everything out), provide a ground point, and... some of the earlier days were to help support the CPU. (these days the heat sink is designed to do this as well).
It also is used (now) to help keep the board from warping due to weight. (think of heavy books on a book shelf) With how multi layered some boards are, a little bend can end up being a very bad thing over time.

As a rule of thumb, I normally will always use them when holes are provided, and esp when there could be a bend possibility. Yeah, I'm paranoid.

I am paranoid too, but also lazy and it's all installed already :P And it is a hassle to remove the motherboard from case
