Default Check this if you need a new computer

    Hi all,
*edit* I'm not selling anything! This is just information for you.

*edit* Want to say that this is just to help if you don't wanna search all over the internet to get good price. I can even add that to be the most cost effective, you could buy from online, or even a nearby computer store, I myself bought my power supply from a nearby store. All Im saying are these exact part make for an excellent rig for a great price, if you don't have too much money to spend on computer but like to play lots of game.

Just wanted to help people who want to change their computer and enjoyed DDO with maximum graphic capability AND enjoy latest game on market. This is a guide to buy parts from newegg to make your own computer for a budget price depending on what you already have that can be recycle into the new one. This is just to give you an idea or a headache free to make your own computer.

DON'T FORGET YOU WILL NEED AN OS TO RUN THE COMPUTER IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE ONE (about 110-115$ US/CAN for Win 7 premium)

I have recently bought those part and tried them with DDO and it work perfectly with maximum graphic and directX 11.

Depending on what you already have, you can just remove what you don't need, be it power supply, computer case, DVD or BR.

I will also put the link for both Canada and US price.

    Canada:
    HDD + Ram + processor + motherboard Combo - 379.00$
    -GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard (Model:GA-890GPA-UD3H)
    -AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT55TFBGRBOX (Model:HDT55TFBGRBOX)
    -Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model KHX1333C9D3K2/4G (Model:KHX1333C9D3K2/4G)
-Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive (Model:ST31000524AS)

    Graphic Card - 189.99$
-EVGA 01G-P3-1460-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Cooler Master Power supply 550W - 59.99$ (You can go with a 450W or 500W, but I would recommend this 550W for upgrade capability and lesser load on PS)

Antec Computer Case - 74.99$ (nice case and great for OC)

DVD or BR - whatever suit your need, from 20$ to 100$

Total : From 569$ to 729$ + taxes and shipping

US (Due to out of stock problem I changed some parts for US):
You can go with this combo, nice price, processor is a 4 core instead of 6, but pretty sure you could also run DDO full throttle (you can still just switch for the 6 core amd 1055T)

    HDD + Ram + processor + motherboard Combo - 295.00$
-MSI 880GMA-E53 AM3 AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard (Model:880GMA-E53)
    -AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ955FBGMBOX (Model:HDZ955FBGMBOX)
    -G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (Model:F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL)
-Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive (Model:ST31000524AS)

    Graphic Card - 194.99$

    Power Supply 550W - 59.99$

    Antec Computer Case - 69.99$

    DVD or BR - 20$ to 100$

Total: From 490$ to 640$ (for 4 core, can go up another 100$ for 6 core) + taxes and shipping

P.S. This can run witcher 2 and crysis 2 without problem, will need some testing to be sure at which capability, but sure it will be near maximum, if not maximum

Hope it help some of you

DDO isnt multi-Threaded. It runs the same on a Dual Core as it would a 6 Core. SO unless you are doing a Tone of background stuff.. Or running more than one instance of the game simultaneously, the extra cores are worthless.

AMD builds the ram contoller into the CPU. Anything other than a 6 core CPU runs DDR2 at about 1.8 Ghz. Running the 6 core processor in most cases allows you to run DDR3 ram at over 2Ghz.

Just the increase in ram speed s worth the cost.

Not everyone plays only DDO and intend to do that forever and ever. Multiple cores is the way everything is headed, may as well future-proof a new machine just a little.

Sadly I went to Intel after the 'tri-core' debacle.

But for those still looking for their ideal rigs or just wanting to learn a little more before making a purchase should check out sites like Tom's and Hardforums (and of course read the reviews at the Egg!).

...And some of us do considerably more than run only DDO...

That's why I told after that a 4 core would probably do the trick like a charm for even less buck.

But I like to run multiple program at same time, so all the core are used, I even run multiple DDO instance when my friend cannot play.

And it also make it a little more easier for new or coming soon game.

But yes, you can go lower and still have maximum graphic, this is just a go between for mostly all game on the market and upcoming game for a few year with nice to extra nice graphic for budget money

lol, wow, extra wow, got bad rep when trying to help people.

I am always surprise by how people react. I put time to write all this after buying one for myself. (not gaining anything by doing so) And got rewarded by bad rep.

Bah, there is always a first

Anyway, for those that NEED a computer and have question, either wanting to have it for DDO only or for being able to play latest game as well, you are free to ask. And those who have even more knowledge in computer and have better suggestion, sure go ahead, will modified my main post according to feedback.

Keep in mind, that what I entered initially is what I bought and what I personally tried and found working perfectly.

I thought about giving this a neg, I try to have nothing to do with the rep system but some times I get annoyed...

Anyway I didn't, it's not trolling or inflammatory.

Rep isn't something to get worked up about, it takes a lot to hit the red boxes, just turn it off if the few green boxes bother you.

One thing to remember is that to some people the Intel/AMD question is almost Religious and/or Political. Like the Apple/PC question

I compare features to cost myself, and the day Intel beats AMD on the bang/buck question is the day I switch

I have an intel processor and an AMD graphics card, when I first installed them I wondered if they would try to kill each other in secret.

AMD graphics is in reality the company formerly known as ATI, btw...

I used to be an Nvidia fan but will probably have to change my stripes now that AMD is shipping multicore "APUs"... Chips that combine CPU cores with GPU cores using ATI tech.

I will take the bad rep with a neutral mind.

Do you guys think this is worth a bad rep? If yes, could you explain? Just trying to figured if my post was a bad idea or if it is just someone alone disliking it.

Not in the least - and I'd send in an appeal to the Mods on the Negs you are getting.

The only thing I see that could be considered out of line with this post is that it should probably be in Off Topic. But, that's not worth a neg.

I thought about neg repping your OP also as it reads like an add in the general forums. I would prefer if the DDO forums did not become like so many other forums where fake posters are really there to just hawk wares. Not that I think the OP is only here to do that (hence why I decided against the neg rep), but it certainly read that way.

humm... I see what you mean. it sure can be seen that way. Any idea on how I can make it look exactly like what I wanted to do? meaning to help people find a good rig for a good price easily. I though the title was self explanatory saying this thread is only for people looking to change their computer.
