Unfortunately, Faerbaste, life is political and you can pretty much debate anything these days, even the right to protest those who defend your right to protest. Fortunately you live in a Country that you can make those statements. I wasn't just thanking Americans btw, I was thanking everyone that had fought in service to defend our beliefs and rights. I have served with many German, French, British, Kuwaiti, Korean, Iraqi, and a few other soldiers of some great countries. I thank them all for standing up to do something they believe in, instead of cowering.....

Even you deserve some credit for standing up here, Faerbaste (to make your political statement vs Americans...... but is a shame....the way you degrade people for doing good things....

This is a political thread and has no place on a fantasy video game forum.

YW Battle. I do it for my father, who's battles in the Korean War left some marks that never healed. During the “forgotten war” the Underwater Demolition Team fought heroically and with little to no fanfare. My dad accompanied South Korean forces on raids in the North to demo train tunnels. He also transported spies into North Korea, and a few other ridiculously dangerous missions.

That team, and a few other secret Navy teams, became what's known today as the US Navy SEALS.

With all due respect to the brave men and women fighting and giving their lives for freedom and peace, i'm kind of wondering if everybody would be as tolerant of other nations patriotism.

One mans freedom fighter can be another mans oppressor, and i can't help but wonder about the reaction of a lot of you people if someone from Iraq for instance would be celebrating their freedom fighters saving their nation from the invaders...

Bottom line, this is a game forum, and Faerbaste is right. This topic is a political one so it shouldn't be here. Eat hamburgers, enjoy your day and remember all the deserving people, but do keep in mind that there is, in fact, a whole world outside of the USA borders.

I see nothing wrong with what the OP posted. There was nothing political about it, if he came on and said USA #1 I would be inclined to agree with the naysayers. I personally abhor violence and war. I also dislike American jingoism however don't see any of that in the OPs post.

To those whom have served I give my respect and appreciation for the job they did.

As a non-American I'd like to pay my respect to Battlehawke and every other individual who has put the good of their country before their own. It's selfless and honourable.

I understand where Faerbaste is coming from. From a non-American person's point of view it's curious how Americans' freedom is always purchased by killing foreign people in far away countries, and I can see how it can be an emotive issue. This thread is probably not the right place for such a debate, though.

    Default Thanking

Thanking people for giving the ultimate sacrifice is not political..... saying the causes were right or wrong, or even justifying the causes....that would be political.... It is you who are trying to make this political..... please stop..and allow us to be thankful...

The forum rules prohibit political discussions.

    This is definately political.

I'm also thankful those of us reading/writing here are not being honored on Memorial Day...I'm happy with Veteran's Day.

Yeah, I don't remember every having to memorize anything about the politics...just the general orders including obeying lawful orders and knowing the names in the chain of command.
