So, I haven't had a chance to test this out yet. Does this effect all orange-named mobs in epic, or just certain ones?

All, including all the random orange named trash mobs in eChrono. I understand deathwarding minibosses (Sobrien), trash really doesn't need to be orange named anymore with the weakened Minion debuff.
I guess it's back to a mass hold fest for echono then.
All of them, but the only quest it causes problems in is epic Devil Assault.
The eChrono ones still have low HP (mostly ~10000) and, solo, they can easily be burned down (Biting Cold and/or Electric Surge) if taken one or two at a time.
I don't have a zerging problem.
I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
Is it the EPIC deathward or is it dispellable?
Favorhor, Rangedeath, Inthedark, Healemup, Axaleal, Hackemlow, Singasong, Intheback
So what exactly is the point of a wizard now?
I mean we cant charm anymore because symbol of persuasion was turned off, we cant insta-kill any orange trash worth using it on, we can barely mass hold some of the trash for perhaps 5-8 seconds if we TR'ed as a wizard three times for spell pen... not that there's much point due to the nerfing of mass hold's function anyway, we really don't have the SP to burn things down with dot's like sorcerers, hypnotize was basically turned off for Archmages, web lasts maybe a few seconds before it gets burned away since 90% of the epic mob crowds has something tossing constant fireball/flamestrikes everywhere, and extend only works on defensive buffs.
We cant CC, we cant Kill, we cant keep up DPS, and we cant Charm...
Have I missed something or are we truly just Buff-bots now?
This, and this:
Anyone have a clue what they mean here? That's a pretty vague statement!Skills, Feats, and Enhancements
■Some enchantment-based effects that inadvertently affected raid bosses no longer do so.

Did some caster creep into your home in the middle of the night and take all your stuff? I'm just envisioning some scene where your house is burning down in the background and some evil wizard is cackling as she runs away and your shouting to the night sky: "I will have my revenge you fiend!"
All joking aside...
My question before was never meant to be viewed as a complaint, I am actually curious if anyone has any thoughts on what wizards can still do effectively in epics so I could adjust my build accordingly.
I'm more looking what's the advantage of a wizard over a sorcerer at the moment (keep in mind my computer has been dead since before the big update, so I have only been able to keep up by reading the forums on my net-book.) I'll be playing my Pale Master as soon as I can get back on the same way I was however, just wondering how much is "DOOM" speak and how much is "There isn't any advantage to being a Wizard compared to Sorcerers" because right now, from what I've read, their isn't. We've got DPS matters and that it. The main difference between Wizards and Sorcerers are saddly not there because we don't have the spells needed for variety and specialization beside, fireball or ray of frost.
Saddly, I don't think this problem can be solved until they add spells from all schools that promote different styles of play. Even imagine if they had 3-4 spells from each school at each level.
Abjuration Focused would be the so called "buff-bots" with powerful protection, debuffing, and banishment spells.
Conjuration Focused would be calling DPS from summoned creatures while helping the party with cloud spells.
Divination Focused doesn't work in the game as it is now but basically would be the "I see you" character.
Enchantment Focused would be crowd control preventing and enhancing the party DPS with holds and charms.
Evocation Focused would be the burst DPS raining hail and lighting from the skys.
Illusion Focused would be the protectors of the party by creating fake copies of them and spells that become real.
Necromancy Focused would be the debuffers and killers, whittling down the enemies until they can snuff out their life.
Transmutation Focused would be the other "buff-bots" with powerful enhancement spells and spells that help the party by shaping the battlefield.
Not all schools are focused on damage nor should their only be one answer to a problem. Should Necromancy be able to burst DPS as well as an Evoker? Should an enchanter be able able to kill things as well as someone specialized as a Necromancer? No, but they should be able to it within reason by swapping spells to fit the occasion. Sorry this is a rant that come out every once and a while over casters in general. Hope this didn't steal your thread or anything.

I can't help but think that the majority of ppl that have posted did so before they ran a quest. I do not think/feel it is as bad as it has been said in this thread. Why not get out there and play a little, then ponder what you did, then come back to the forums and actually express what is real, and not imagined.
Frankly, this thread like most others so close to an update is simply rambling combo'd with a little rage over "fear" of something not yet realized but rather imagined over words like "nerf".
Why not actually play the game, and come up with original thoughts.

The point of a wizard?
You do more single-target DPS in random lootgen gear than a fully epic equipped Barbarian, and without mana pots you can sustain it for longer than any fight in the game. Only a Sorc can match your DPS; no other class is close.
You can massacre trash mobs with Wail, Finger and Circle of Death. Or if you are generous, you can Hold them instead to give melees something to do. You do this better than any other class.
I'd love to see a melee solo Angog the Champion (eVON1) in under 60 seconds.
I don't have a zerging problem.

Ok, I'll bite, Why lol? Transmuters usually end up buffing themselves (Bull's Strength, Polymorph), others, or altering the world around him/her (Transmute Rock to Mud, Rock to Lava)
Yeah, but what are the differences between wizards and sorcerers? In pnp one of the major differences was that you could specialize in a school and later books (outside the player handbook) introduced other things that separated the classes further through variants and prestige classes that required spontaneous vs prepared caster levels.
Even DDO has separated them with their capstones (Sorcerers get bonus to damage while wizards get discounted meta-magic feats) this supports that sorcerers are suppose to be the nukers while wizards are suppose to be more strategic. Does that mean a wizard isn't suppose to nuke or a sorcerer crowd control no but they shouldn't be the same class.
