It's actually not 3% on elite. The 1.5% chance just rolls twice, so you get a 2.9775% chance of at least one and a 0.0225% chance of getting 2 at once.

I'll have to take your word on the percentages, but I know 2 can drop at once. I was helping some guildies look for theirs, and on our 4th Elite run, 2 of them popped.

It "appeared" for me on my 3rd recent run of Dreaming Dark Elite, though it was not killed I guess? I threw a firewall on chest before opening, heard the noise, saw in combat dialogue that I did ~78 fire damage to Xachosian Landwalker (sp?). And that was it. I didn't see anything appear, couldn't backspace find anything, summoned a pet, nothing.

I guess it moves really fast? Or did the firewall on the chest bug it out? How much estimated health does it have? Better strategy available?

It moves quite fast. It's a small pink creature, and it drops a bag when killed. Think it has about 100 HP. So I suppose yours got away. Try covering a larger area with aoe's, or boost your damage/use targeted damage spells.

I used cloud kill and ice storm on the chest, and It did not make it out of there alive. Does CK autokill it due to lack of HD? I looted mine on hard in DD, and it was around 10 chests to get it to pop.

Quite recently I was farming elite DD to get the eardweller for my fvs. Took me about 15 runs and then two eardwellers dropped from one chest, alas the second one went to waste

That happened to me too. I tried to get a guildy in to pick it up, but it disappeared before he could get there.
but that was more like 35-40 runs.

Ran it a total 9 times 3 for friend and and 6 for fun..

First 1 dropped after 3 runs, friend got it, and only lvl 17...
ran again and First run it dropped then tried to sell and it disappeared because i waited too long, Ran 2 more times and it dropped and got it off for 3 Large Shrapnel and 4 Large Sulfur stones.. All elite runs

Imo it seems like the eardweller drops way more often for a person who already has 1....Before i got mine it literally took me 55-60 runs between 2 toons, before it dropped for me on hard in Dreaming dark opt chest ransacked and all...

If you're on thelanis Just let me know and i will get u 1 for about 7-900k if not a little less.. ^^ Ingredients are also good..
