Spell Changes (NOT a doom(tm) thread)

I was thinking that with all of the possible sell changes that are happening it could certainly reinvigorate the life of a caster, it will be nice to see other spells being used as we run through quests.

I have 1 question from the perspective of the Sorc:
With all of the these changes and rebalancing to spell effects and costs will will get the ability to re-pick our spells, i know one option would be too use a lesser heart, but most are happy with there feats and skill distributions etc and will be wanting to change out spells now based on the changes that come.
Only being able change out one spell every 3 days and for a huge cost will be prohibitive to many players and may leave a load of Sorcs not used until they have had enough time to respec the spells they dont want to use into ones they now see as appealing.

I certainly picked my spells as i levelled my Sorc based on effectiveness and some community expectation and these havnt changed in years.

PS the question hidden in my mini rant was : can we have a better mechanic to swap out spells, if only for a few days/weeks after the new mod comes out to allow us to see what the changes mean to us.

It seems to me that professional spell swapping constraints should be reduced to the same degree that spells are altered. The proposed U9 review is a dramatic change, so the constraints should be reduced dramatically.

Only for the very short term on the spell swapping. Too much removes the limitation.


Also, while you may be ok with your feat choices having spec'd evocation or conjuration focus, there's likely a host of sorcs who didn't (I'm one and one on this).

Nerfs to existing [insert game mechanic]: Turbine should step up to the plate, and make the pill easier to swallow. They won't, but they should.

Upgrade/Addition to existing [insert game mechanic]: Players should step up to the plate, and reward Turbine for the shinies. Buy an LR heart from your local DDO Store.

Originally when I saw the release notes, I was going to reincarnate immediately into my sorc life to get it out of the way...but after some more thought, I am going to hold off on it until the changes are made.

I think it will be a fun, fresh experience to level using the new Pre's and adjusted spells, rather than firewalling everything...

Could this maybe, possibly, hypothetically, theoretically, confirm/deny nothing... be a test run for sorcerers, bards, and favored souls getting a free respec when U9 goes all Live-like?
