    Default Warforged Archmage Guides

    The new setup to the forum still doesn't help me find anything I want...So I'm going to ask those of you who have been around much longer to help me out!

    I just hit level 9 on my WF Wiz/Rogue (7/2) and am looking for advice or a guide to being an archmage (what to take, what to avoid). I am hoping for a solo build that is also able to hold his own in a party. So far I am uber-pleased with my wiz because he blows through quests above and at level no problem since I got firewall. I have base max INT, near max CON (18 I think?) and the rest in STR so I can hit things. In party I tend to break out my dual wield Fire Lore and Potency weapons then switch to a master's touched G-axe or appropriate weapon and melee in the flames.

    My questions are more in the Archmage area, as this is my first arcane. I am missing the spell focus: ??? feat but otherwise I have all the prereqs covered. My question is as a WF which school would be my best choice? What are the pros and and cons of each? Is one better for a party and one better for solo?

    Also, as my first time as an arcane, what gear should I be shooting for at my level (9-10) to end game? I have a tier 3 ornamented dagger created, but nothing else I have from other characters really fits an arcane. As of right now I have a power IX staff I use at the beginning of the level for buffs then switch in my Fire Lore / Potency combo. Are there certain named items I should shoot for other than spell storing and raiyum? Which greensteel options should I take? HP And SP Goggles or Cape?

    Please feel free to refer me to any good guides you know of, or just answer my questions here...I'm not afraid to read for myself, I just didn't want to spend 6 frustrating hours finding the single guide I need...Thank you everyone!

    i would take the green steel goggles. you can use the napkin for the cape.

    My advice is play through the character like this and then adjust your build at endgame to what you find best fits your playstyle.

    As for gear, leveling up pretty much anything works on this build. Potency and Lore items like you are doing, you can also pick up clickes or pots for combustions or glaciation as they increase the specific typed damage by 75% instead of 50%.

    End game gear there are many options and many different opinions, a quick forum search will lead you to those threads.
