To the "Awesome" Guy Who Pulled Aggro in EChrono

Way to go dude. Way to be a badass. You managed to pull aggro from our designated tank by turning on all your hate amplification and wearing your EClaw set.

But it doesn't help that when you pulled aggro, you just stood there and died; oh yea, and we asked if you wanted to tank when you pulled it a second time, and you just stood there. But wait, smiting isn't sustained DPS is it!? If you want to tank, speak up. I have never seen someone pull aggro away from our designated tank unless they were specifically trying, and we have plenty of ESoS weilders. If you want to tank, and we OFFER you the position, take it. But don't stand there and die in the fire. If I had my way, I wouldn't have raised you; screw your ESoS DPS; had you not been screwing around with our main tanks aggro, the fact that one of our healers was a gimp with 1 mana potion wouldn't have made a big difference. Don't try to make us look bad, which is all you could have been hoping to accomplish. Just because you are in a well known guild doesn't mean you can be a total jerk and sabotage our raid.

EDIT: And no I was not the main tank. I was the healer who had to watch his dumb ass pull the whole fiasco. I talked to the main tank who was using Brute Fighting and incite DT armor.

Had to explain Divine Righteousness at length to a Barb friend of mine. 1 AP, and if a Paladin wants to, they will pull aggro. This, of course, is assuming they aren't total suck.

I realise VOD <> epic chrono but it always seems silly to me when an AC build is 'tanking' such that everyone else has to gimp themselves (eg use tharnes instead of epic claw) just to be careful not to draw aggro. Slows everything down.

If you had plenty of eSOS users coudln't there have been another choice that could have held aggro better?

This is all well and good, but tanking Epic Chrono is suited more to people that can stay in through all the AOE attacks. Sacrificing some DPS for a reliable tank isn't a bad option in that run; it just means the other DPS in the group need to use their discretion with threat gear and power attack.

Intentionally pulling agro in Epic Chrono is pretty slack though, I can just imagine when the thing changes targets, turns to the party and lights up fire... -_-

Depending on party composition, you might want things slowed down. If you're not the leader, it's not your business to be making that call. Obviously in a group capable of setting a speed record, you just toss the highest DPS toon into the tanking slot. What you think is silly is often a result of someone (hopefully a good leader) having more information that you do concerning party composition.

Like I said I had zero hate generating items on. Maybe you should tell him to get some lol. I don't yet own an "eclaw set" as I just began playing last week after a few months of absence. I even threw on tharnes set for negative aggro after I pulled it from him (which I still managed to do a 2nd time after dying and losing all my raid buffs). I don't use Divine Righteousness (I don't have the enhancement which I dropped long ago after realizing that if I needed it to tank a raid in the first place, I should just let the barb do it and it also takes away a use of your divine might.) I know my pally is well built and can hold aggro especially vs EO, I wasn't trying to prove anything to anyone, I don't need to lol. I didn't want to tank which is why I didn't offer, but if I had known about his dps (or lack there of), I would have offered. It's silly that I should have to limit my dps output for his benefit. Turn of power attack..pft, I already purposely held smites. What's the point of raiding and getting items to increase dps if in turn I have to limit it? He had plenty time to build up aggro, I even asked if he was rdy for us to come in. Like I said earlier, it's not my fault if he couldn't hold it. I even stood still for him to try and regain aggro. Maybe you should have yelled at him for offering to do a job he that he couldn't do well.

Aggro-generation is the responsibility of BOTH the main tank and you.

The main tank had low aggro. So YOU have to make sure you have lower aggro. You didn't manage to do that, so you failed.

I didn't realize the TWF WF Fighter using green steel khopeshes would have low aggro. My mistake. :/

Hmm, pulling aggro away after being given some time to build up hate.......that smells of we don't know what we doing so we'll offer to do the job and be cool. If a char has 1min to hit a boss and someone comes in and steal aggro......well I'll have to question the tank choice.

If someone pulls aggro off of you while you're tanking, what would you want them to do after their raise? I would think that standing still so that you can establish some more aggro might be something useful...

If you can't hold aggro with raid buffs with time to build aggro and then you STILL can't hold aggro after the person that grabbed aggro dies and loses all their raid buffs, then you need to *NEVER* offer to tank a raid *EVER* again.

Am I right in recalling that your aggro count is set back to 0 after you die? Either way, you did a poor job of tanking, but if a person's aggro count is set to 0 after dying, then you really need to reevaluate your character's build/gear/something.

He was probably at 30% of his max dps and just couldn't go any lower. His DPS is crazy high!
