Default Is it my opinion? Or am I stereo typing.

When I play late at night and the aussie/kiwi crew start logging on I notice a player quality difference. That time at night when a player joins & I hear that accent. I'm almost certain to have a quality player in my group. Is this because these guys are forced to learn to play the game better due to lack of quality players? Is this me just imagining stuff? I don't think so.

My opinion says these guys/girls play better because they're forced to. I'd love to get others opinion on this. Please chime in.

Although it's my inclination to suggest that our Oceanic brethren are more naturally skilled, perhaps you are noticing the +2 untyped bonus to all stats that a good night's rest provides. :P

That said, I notice it too

maybe it has more to do with attitude and upbringing than it has to do with skill?

Yeah those Aussies are pretty good at games and sports.....must be all that time spent at the beach.

On a more serious note....seems that doesn't apply to the great sport of Cricket anymore......I love the smell of freshly claimed ashes in the morning.

too bad the kiwis are good at league, world champs, 4 nations champs end of last year thrashed the hell outa da poms, beat the all star studded aussies in the final in the game that mattered. rugby league a real mans sport, not like nancy boy cricket, full contact, up the guts, not padding and helmets, even rugby union is getting soft these days at least league still is a real mans sport.

    Two things:

    1. I've also noticed that, for the most part, the Aussies tend to introduce a certain je-ne-sais-quoi to the parties I have been in.

    2. Is it my opinion? Or am I stereo typing. ==> Yes it is your opinion, but one that I share. You are, in a positive way, stereotyping, but unless you are typing on one keyboard to your left and one to your right you are not "stereo" typing.

    Wink I love pugging....

... early in the morning here in the US and hearing "G'day and welcome". I have NEVER had a poor experience when at least 2 of the other players were Aussie or Kiwi. ;o)

I do tend to notice that my morning sessions on days when I can play in the morning seem to be at a different pace and have a vibe about them that stuff will get done with little to no issues unless I hear the incessant droll of a young American

Plus that G'day Mate seems to make me perk up a bit more. I don't know why...

Let me be first to admit Aussiee's a FINE player, in all her incarnations, ... even back in the days when we was in Cult of the Six guild, before she formed Utopia. She has worked hard to get her guildies fine-honed to run quests in efficient and swift manner. Her accent is sultry and smooth, recognizable anywhere on khybber.

Ergo, Of COURSE your happier with An Aussiee in your party!

It's been my experience that are adventurers from down-under are some of the best.

Quality and friendliness. It's always a pleasure to group with them.

    Talking Regarding..Aussies!

I have had several great times playing with the folks from down under. There appreciation of quality music ( Olivia Newton-John ) and incredibly good beer (Foster's Lager j/k) <Australian for beer, mate> just brings there gaming to a whole other level.
And let us not forget..Crocodile Dundee, I mean seriously..Having an Aussie say "That ain't no khopesh, this here is a khopesh!" is truly uplifting!

All kidding aside, I regularly play/quest with a nice aussie lady..and she knows her stuff. But, I try not to get on her bad side..I mean if you screw up her "Shroud" run..she becomes a "Nasty Sheila"

As a caveat, you can always make an offer of a vegimite sandwich to calm an aussie down!

    We have high pings.

I get an average of 310-350 ping from Perth Western Australia.

That translates to having to predict what's going on at least 1-2 seconds ahead of time in order to synchronise with the US players who are getting ~20 ping.

    That's why we are better.

This is why stereotypes are bad.
