Default First time monk looking for a dps build

I have never played monk before, and after trying to read the calculations i looked up and ram them into my brain, it exploded, so now i have to ask other people to use their brains for me.

I am looking for a monk that gets the maximum possible dps, when i say max Dps, i mostly mean in situations against raid bosses/epic bosses, because, in my view, that is the time when dps really matters. I am fine with sacrificing some other skills like stunning blow to achieve higher dps.

    Thanks in advance ;D

Here's a link to a Half-Orc dark monk, which I'm pretty sure is at the top of the heap for monk DPS:

Not mine, and I haven't rolled this exact build, but the DPS is no joke. It does however depend on getting some expensive handwraps, say something like holy or shocking burst of stunning +10 (in that ballpark at least). But that's a limitation of monk DPS in general, not this particular build.

I had this exact question a month ago. Here is a link to the thread I started.... http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=290474

I have this guy up to level 7 and he is awesome he really puts up the numbers. With a hireling healer in tow I can pretty much solo anything.

Plus he is Dwarf - a free race and Dwarfs are awesome!

Hope this helps... Have Fun and Good Luck!

Honestly, the best and easiest DPS monk is a Horc barbarian. If you really want DPS as your primary function why play a monk? or just splash a couple monk levels into another build. Besides paladins, monks are the most difficult class to build well, they are starved for action points and feats can be tight depending on the PrE you decide to take.

Your main weapons will be your fists, they do great base damage but they suck in terms of crit range. Personally, I think people put way too much emphasis on getting a high strength, based on the benefits for other class. If you are a fighter using Khopeshes with impr. crit slashing your crit range is 16-20 with a 3x multiplier. Your base damage gets that 3x multi quite often, so every extra +1 damage gets factored into that multiplier, big difference. With fists you get 19-20 with imp crit blugeon, and only a 2x multi, so the extra damage you get is much less.

Is it really worth tossing out things like Stunning fist which gives you auto crit on every hit, for say +2 to damage from 4 extra strength? YMMV but for my lunch money I say no. T
