LFM was up - Crucible Elite Experienced players



I join and clear the way to the quest, recall, head back to the ship and get buffed and make it back to the quest entrance before anyone else has entered GH or spoken.

There were 4 people in the party at this point so I asked how many new the maze. 1 of the other 3 "experienced" players new the maze.

10 minutes go by and the 1 member who knows the maze logs out without warning. Another 5 go by and even though the party is capable of completing we have to wait for the party leader to get moving.

30 minutes have gone on the timer of my ship buffs before I can get them to enter the quest.

I ask if anyone has diplo for the champions, we have to wait for the Bard to enter to buff the Cleric to give him enough diplo for these champions. The Cleric doesn't have enough fully buffed but the Wizard (party leader says he can get it). He proceeds to log out without warning. No one else wants to carry on without him so we sit there for 5 minutes waiting for him to reconnect. Luckily I have the star now and the gimping can end. Once he reconnects it turns out although he been waiting 30+ minutes for the party to fill the Wizard isn't even in GH yet. Takes him another 5 minutes to get there and he asks for a share at the door...

He gets in, is buffed by the Bard and then stands still, his one ****ing job is to diplo the champions and he stands there like a muppet not doing anything. He finally gets moving and it takes him several minutes to talk to 4 mobs. I 100% regret mentioning the champions and will never do so again.

Were finally moving and I have to lead the party of players who either clicked on or put up and lfm that said experienced players through the maze. The maze can be a pain at the best of times but when leading a party full of players that struggle to follow simple instructions it gets annoying quickly. I get and place all 3 crests myself because the party is incapable of following instructions. I was rather rude to some of the players.

Luckily the Clonk wasn't a complete simpleton and managed to get through the swim and agility horn after some persuasion.

My lunch was ready halfway through endurance horn and there was no way I was missing it for the party. Tuned out to be some greatly disappointing ham sandwiches. Once I got back there was only the last passage and final fight to go so I blasted some Avril Lavigne, killed everything and finished the quest. Massive waste of life.




Points to make / Cliffs:

Why does it take 30 minutes just to make it to a quest, it's a 5 minute run from anywhere in the game at max, get your act together.

Why click on or put up and LFM requiring experienced players if you are not experienced. You will not be in a party with me again if you do this. You should ask for help instead of deceiving people to get it.

Avoid optionals in PUGs at all costs. They just slow down exp and waste sp.

As for people not showing up... people are lame. I was in GH and ran past one of the group memebers at the AH on my way out to the quest. I typed in party chat, "we are all here waiting for you." They waited 5 more minutes before popping out to make the journey to the quest...RUDE!

It's 24 argo favor on elite and was ~15k exp. If the party was as advertised it would have been worth the time.

Never, ever click on a PUG looking for Experienced Players. I am more likely to click an LFM that states they are new and would like a guide. I have solo/pugged most of my toons, else I start up a PUG and lead the pikers along. I will occasionally find players that listen to what I say or know the quests. I will typically add them to my friends list and monitor their progress.

There should be in quest specification:
Unless you running with people you know, there is always at least 1 person who act dumb.

what Experienced player mean in this quest?
- There is need to a leader who know it + up to 3 pikers on vales in maze.
- There is need evasive person for horn of agility and horn of endurance (preferably rouge)
- Preferably this same rouge will take care of horn of instinct.
Uaually 2 people who know whats up and rest people that do whta they are aske for.

Seriously, had many similar experiences lately, especially during Chrismas. Maybe partly due to children being off from school, I don't know.

I'm wildly curious as to what these people do when they take 30 minutes to get to a quest. Do they click the LFM and then proceed to vacuum the house? Do they take out their dog for a walk? What?

It's so bad that I changed the use of my friends-list to its actual purpose. Instead of adding the occasional moron with a comment as to why he's there, and the rest of the population being assumed to be at least mediocre, I now meticulously add the precious few mediocre or good puggers I happen to find.

Pugging is at an all-time low, think I will soon give it up altogether, which I find to be a bit of a shame since it used to be fun to pug (OK not all the time), soloing I find boring and we're a small guild.

This is not unheard of.

I've run hour-long Crucibles before when party members had no idea how it worked. It's a challenging quest to newcomers because there are so many things to do. On elite, the underwater spikes also flay any class combination that doesn't have a primary reflex save (I barely evade on a roll of 10 with a 27 max reflex). Just make sure to pick better players next time.

Who ever said anything about elite?

The OP states was an elite run... which could be solo'd on any class really easy at one time in the past. Used to swim it very well on some non-evasive toons often times never a scratch.

Today you need either a lot of swim practice or a decent evasion toon for the swim although I did make the swim recently on my fighter on hard at level to rescue a rogue but it took me a good portion of the quest time ... picked up their stone and swam to the horn area and res'd them...

I for one think the dev's are still pretty silly for the "elite" trap damages... sure in the past people run thru them all but they're not suppose to be tougher than the bloody mob in the quest. When you look at epics are the traps weaker yes the DC to remove them higher quite bloody backwards in design.
