Stalwart Soldier variant

I was thinking of creating a Stalwart Soldier with 2 levels of Paldin as discussed Here:

But at what 2 levels do I pick Paladin? With the extra Fighter feats at 1,2,4, 6 etc; I was thinking of doing Paladin at 3 then 5. Would that work?

the fighter bonus feats come at *fighter* level 1, 2, 4, 6, etc, not at character level 1, 2, 4, 6, etc. so from the perspective of feats, it doesn't much matter when you take those paladin levels.

personally, i'd be inclined to take them early... may as well get your paladin goodies up front, and have the bonus to saves/LOH sooner rather than later, imo.

I understand as a Paladin first two levels, I get my Charisma bonus to all saves (Divine Grace). So I dont need Force of Personality as Paladin already gives me that or not? So its a bit odd that FoP is in the Paladin feat list, I must have something wrong here?

Divine Grace just adds your Charisma bonus to ALL saves.

Force of Personality takes your Charisma modifier and applies it to your Will save, rather than your Wisdom modifier.
