I'm not ashamed of this, but I do this when I run hard or elite raids that are challenging. If I'm doing Hard/Elite on the following:

    1. VoD
    2. HoX
    3. Shroud
    4. Ascension Chamber
    5. ToD

and Epics, I require people to know what the hell they're doing. If you want to learn the raid, go run it a bunch of times on normal.

Give you one guess who died 3 times

There is much more to this story but I have refrained my ways.

Was in a ToD run and I was watching him slowly die because he had multi uncleansed GS items on. It was like watching a Frenzied Bard dieing trying to kill portals, but without the HP or the portals

    Go.

Haven't actually done this yet but in *theory* it will terrify away those who are not up to a zergfest.

And leaving a char at 20 for a while does *not* help someone become a better player as all you do is raid where everything is given out to you in buffed up way with specialist roles. Questing is very different in terms of responses and knowledge of a much greater amount of content and learning techniques to minimise damage while doing the most amount of damage in much more variety.

There should no longer be an assumption that a TR knows how to go at a quest with greater efficiency than the usual hoi poloi... ha! particularly as *i've* just started my first TR! although i must admit i am surprised at how much stuff i can solo on my baby monk.

can't imagine myself being so exclusive on a lfm yet.maybe on my 2nd TR. i do know that it's a good idea to put 'know the way' or some other indicator on the lfm if you have no intention of going back for peope : eg vale quests where someone needs to be able to get to the quest because you're already in and running. i mean, people are welcome to join, but if they're then unable to get to the quest and we can't really come out without resetting to assist them then they have a choice of a late pen/dying/not getting there or choosing to drop.

While 'only vets +TRs ' (and i've seen 'only old guilds') sounds exclusive (it is) it really is doing a favor to everyone - and as said if you send a tell to the leader saying you know the way and quest they may choose to let you in regardless of their lfm requirements.

zergfests are no fun for some people. they need to know not to join those lfms.
Your lucky to assume people read your lfm. I say "zerg" in alot of lfm's while leveling a tr, and I get a bunch of clicks of people that join and I tell them zerg, and then they drop.....

I like to join these. Once I'm in the quest, I'm fond of saying things to ingratiate myself with the Leader and the rest of the party:

    1. Share!
    2. What House is this in?
    3. Need flag for this?

The rare times I pug I use a highly selective LFM process.
"New players welcome if you can listen and follow directions."

This statement above provides the highest quality group member from the playerbase for any run by preselecting individuals that have a mindset that most fits with completion. Experienced players know that almost any run can be done we almost any party config if the party communicates and works together. That being said I care not if you are a 5 year vet or a 2 month newb. If you listen and follow directions to the best of your ability things more times than not work out. Experienced players tend to join these LFM's because the understand that their will be some direction and leadership if we have new players join.

is there a way to tell if someone is a TR?

i know you cant know if the person is a vet :/

but seriously, some of the quests that get this tag are just ridiculous. You need vets and TRs for lv 8-11 elite Tear of Dhakaan? >.>, even when it only had 2 shrines that was totally unnescessary

Ive quit using Zerg most of the time. Simply too many who dont know what it means. I now use "Fast" or "Fast Runs" as it seems to at least be a little less confusing to most.

I do not exclude anyone (well except healers sometimes )

All i ask is that if you die....please do it in an amusing or noobish way At least make me laugh

If im serious about grinding the xp then its solo or guildies/friends only no lfm needed.
If im bored or know that puggers could use the quest/xp/flagging then i will stick up and lfm. Ill take the first to fill the spots without care for balance or class.

And no BYOH does not mean bring you own hireling (DOH!)

It is to the point where I ask Share when ever I join guild groups. I do it for the lulz.

Hehe. I admit I might be helping to foster this miscommunication. Sometimes I put up the LFM with BYOH in the title and start the quest before anyone joins. I just want to have some extra people since it usually speeds up play. But if I'm playing a character without the ability to self-heal, I will summon a hireling and dismiss it once the group is mostly full since it is a lot more cost effective than a stack of CSW.

Didn't read the whole thread but lol regardless. I've seen some absolutely horrid TR's out there.

My fav is to put 'be self sufficient' into my lfms. It generally keeps the riffraff out.

Default Just to prove my point that wings mean squat.

On my ranger in ETK at the valve for the final fight. We ask who's going to stay and man the valve. Bard says it should be me or the ranger since he's probably more squishy than me (mind you I haven't died or came close to dying the whole time). My reply was. I don't know where you'd consider me squishy I'm only level 17 and I have just under 500 HP. Bard replies. You have 500 HP! How's that even possible? I reply. Well since I have like 8 rangers and they all have 500 HP even my dex ranger I'd say it's very possible.

This was a TR bard. So once again it proves that those wings don't mean shiot when it comes to being a noob.

When I first read this, I thought you wrote STK. :P And I thought, who in the heck needs 500hp for STK?

Joined a VoN flagging LFM with my Sorc. LFM said know the quest, yadda yadda yadda. They had just finished VoN1, and were starting 2. They enter 2, and as I'm walking across House K...

    <DING!> The Ranger dies.
The Barbarian summons a FvS Hireling
    <DING!> Barb dies.
    <DING!> Hireling FvS dies.

I get in, prepared to recover their soul stones, when they decide to recall out and drop group. Thought about just soloing it, but decided not to. The Fire Giant will probably give my Sorc some trouble right now, since I've not finished resetting my spells.
