**** lag **** me out of a bargain on the AH!

So I was browsing through the Auction House looking for stuff for my Arcane Archer toon, when I saw it... a +2 Metalline Longbow of Pure Good.

It was 5,000 platinum.

One cardiac moment later, I was trying to spam the "Buyout/OMGYES!!" buttons... and no response. So I try again. And again. And once more, desperate not let someone else buyout it before me. It's still listed on the AH and my frantic button smashing is producing exactly zero (0) results.

Then all of a sudden I get a message saying that I don't have enough money to place the bid. Now I've just sold a load of stuff at the House D & K vendors, so I know I have over 10k platinum in my inventory, and I'm worried I've just been made bankrupt by lag and will have nothing to show for it.

Then I get 3 error messages saying that the auction I'm trying to buyout is no longer valid. And I have 13k plat back in my inventory. I can only conclude that due to lag, someone else snapped it up while I was still trying to get my clicks registered.

Whoever you are that managed to get hold of that Longbow instead of me, I hope you always roll a 1 while using it.

Metalline of PG is not as useful on a bow as it is on a melee weapon. On a bow you have the choice of arrows to use so you can easily bypass DR by stocking silver or cold iron arrows depending on the raid you are about to run. There are much better DPS options than Met of PG such as Holy of PG. Granted 5k plat is a good bargain for a decent weapon, but it's not that much to be upset over.

Silver longbow (not hard to farm on a high level toon and shouldnt be too expensive in the AH) plus the correct material arrows from house D vendor means more base damage & higher crit chance... now if it had been melee weapon, that would have been a different matter & I'd be a little peeved too

If you've got a Silver Longbow, you should be glad you didn't waste the money on the Metalline of PG. The House D favor is easy to get, and it will make that bow practically worthless.
