    Default Death Aura WAI?

currently Lesser death aura and death aura are both being affected by Spell Resistances
    is this working as intended?
weren't damage spells all suppose to bypass SR?
PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!

why do you say that? I haven't noticed anything bad and I'm a Drow with 14 SR. At L19 with deaths touch my Death Aura ticks 21-27, doesn't seem affected by SR...

What are you getting? I hope its not broken (again) because as I understand in Update 8 Drow will get inherent SR (finally) and I would hate to have it interfere...

Anyone else having issues with it?

monsters with SR like Flesh render would just shrug it off
so it's just weird to me that's all

    ok ok Jay203

your talking about MONSTERS SR not ours (the PM casters)

Humm..in that case then I would guess that YES SR would probably work into the amount of damage they take from it. WAI.

I understand DA is suppose to be a damaging spell, but its really a PM self heal...but the ittybittybit of damage it does do is quite nice Some things will die in the aura pretty fast (like bats in revers for example)

"weren't damage spells all suppose to bypass SR?"

not sure where your getting this buddy, SR is there for damage spell defense...

Anyway, if anyone is reading this, I believe its monster related, not an Avatar related SR question...

    Am I helping here?

hmm... i wonder if it's using the same mechanic as Burning blood...
but really, isn't it more or less just an aura that casts inflict wound spells at enemies inside the aura?

The Radiant Servant healing aura/blasts have to bypass the SR on undead that have it as well. I'd guess they are both WAI.

    Death Aura
    Cooldown: 5 seconds
    Spell Point Cost:
    Target: Self
    Level:
    4 (Wizard, Sorcerer)
    Components: Somatic, Verbal
    School: Necromancy
    Metamagic: Extend, Heighten, Quicken
    Spell Resistance: Yes
Envelops the caster in a sickly aura of negative energy. Living enemies stepping inside the aura take 2 to 8 negative energy damage plus 1 additional point per caster level every two seconds as long as they remain within it. Undead are instead healed by the aura. This aura can affect up to one target per caster level.\n\nD&D Dice: Deals 2d4 negative energy damage plus 1 per caster level every two seconds.
I'm really not seeing where the confusion is. If the description says there is supposed to be a spell resistance check, then what does that mean in your mind?

No. A lot of them have been changed in DDO from their PnP counter parts. For some reason Turbine decided to leave this one as is. Not saying I agree one way or the other, just saying it's quite clear what is intended.
