Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone knowif its Illegal or bannable to trade Plat from DDo for Gold in Lotro ?? I'm hoping one of Turbines employees can answer for me or someone who really know for certain thx in advance eh

Interesting question. I've never heard of inter-server trades in DDO having a problem, but I've never heard of this particular scenario. There is no real-world money or goods changing hands, which is usually the key factor, and it all happens on their servers. I'm not sure why they would forbid it, since it isn't something that is likely to come up that often. That's just my opinion though, and I'd be curious about what they say as well.

You could try dropping a PM to Tolero or some of the other Turbine reps as well, or even posting in the account assistance forum. I might wait a day or two on a PM though, since their inboxes might be a bit crowded after the last 24 hours.

Hmmm....interesting.

We've been told its not allowed as a trade with outside games (ie - no trading for WoW currency) but we know server to server within DDO is allowed (although not endorsed since people can reneg)

Can't see why they would care if you were promoting another Turbine game...

For one, you could be exposing account information. If a third party is involved, it could be classified as a Code of Conduct violation.

And if that is not enough, if one or both parties involved gets ripped off in some way, we will not reimburse anyone involved.

The best thing to do is to keep your game specific items in your specific games.

So, by this statement, it is allowed then, as long as only the two individuals are involved? You don't recommend it for obvious reasons, but a straightforward trade won't be a violation? That's what I got from your post, but you didn't actually give a straight "Yes or No" answer.

Edit: And given recent events, I don't think I'd feel comfortable with doing it without a clear answer.

I wasnt plannin on use'n a 3rd party, just askin in the Khyber market if anyone was playin on the same server as I am in Lotro and I'd really only do it with someone who is well known on the Khyber Forum.

But til I get "YES or NO" answer I won't be doing anything silly that might get me banned from all Turbine games eh

A while back I had a guildy get a suspension for doing just this. Really strange thing is that he got a 3 day ban from DDO, but no ban from Lotro....

I believe tarrant says that it isn't a bannable offense unless you use a third party or involve real world compensation of any kind.

Legally he is responsible for reminding you that if one party feels ripped off afterwords, there is no recourse and your stuck with it.

Basically it's a risk and not recommended by Turbine. If it was strctly against the rules it would have easily been one sentence: "No it's against <such and such> rules, TOS, etc"

Edit, I didn't see Impact's post..It look like if they notice it, it's up to whomever it gets back to as to what recourse is taken.

You will never get a yes or no form Turbine on subjects like this. It's not against the TOS, or rules form what I can read, but they obviously would like you not to do it.
