I will be staying WF Monk 34 Point build until I complete all the Epic Items I'm wanting to wear, only because I HATE the level grind.


Gear Layout ~ More AC, More DC, Less overall DPS, but not by much.

You lose the set bonus' for To-Hit, Damage, ect, however.. more DC's for dealing with trash mobs. You might need to turn your Power Attack off when dealing with Epic Bosses, but with 99% of the rest of the content, your to-hit should be fine

Litany does not stack with the Profane bonus from the Abashai set I guess...

If you plan on going str based(which i would think on the half-orc) Just keep in mind that the attack and damage rolls from epic chrono staff are dex based, maybe epic souleater instead? I don't know if this is subject to change or what.

Epic Helm of Frost - Helm, Polar Ray(CL20 3x), Grtr Cold resist, Cha+7, Greater Might of the Abishai Set, Yellow Augment Slot

So it is +7 CHA confirmed... but no guard effect. I was hoping for freezing ice guard or fireshield cold to bring it in line with Epic Red Dragon helm's magma surge + fireshield and be the cold equivalent... not sure if this will be better for my setup. Great for yours though since you will be going for the set bonus.

Yea, I lose out on 1 point of Wisdom, from dropping the VoN helmet, however I pick up a slot that I can use for ac/dps swap (ring), and I clear out my boot slot for a hp item. Tomorrow while waiting for timers to tick down, I'll work out the AC/Hp ect on this guy

Looking forward to it, sure I'm missing something but I'm only seeing 60ish AC on this guy with the gear you have listed, not the 70-80.
Looks fun though, reminds me I really have to start grinding out the epics for Hekx.

I'm hoping by the changes I'm planning on making, to see over 100 AC party buffed, and 90's self buffed. While keeping a good enough To-Hit and Strength score, as well as DC on stunning fist, Quivering Palm, and Touch of Death to stay useful.

After doing some research, and figuring out stats and such, I'm thinking of going the route of gear layout 2 instead, and swapping from putting my level ups into strength, to putting them into Wisdom, which will net me about +3 more AC, +3 more to my DC's ect... while still allowing me to stay mid 30's to low 40's raged strength.

Personaly on str monks i'm a HUGE fan of epic Cloack of the Roc fro the +1/+2 Excpt strenght realyl the only place a monk can got it from woudl work wel in your gear lay out in sted of the +2 dodge cloack, would be harder to fit in on the other one sicne you woudl still need another might of A set item with out envenomed cloak.

I agree to be honest with you.

My plans would be to use swappable gear depending on the fighting that I'm going to be doing.

DPS avoid Threat ~ Ninja Spy Set ~ Cape of the Roc to get the +2 damage from Cape of the Roc & +5 Damage to sneak attack from the NS Set.

DPS Hold Threat ~ Shintao Set ~ Mabar Cloak to get the +2 damage from the Shintao set


Tank mode would be wearing all the dodge ac gear I can grab, if I need the hps, would be swapping over to Earth Stance for the extra hps that are needed, and then praying i can hold the agro (very rare situations)

After reading about the new changes that are being made coming Update 9, I am planning on scrapping this build, while it was nice as a Str DPS monk, I will probably find more enjoyment out of being more survivable and staying dark path, but going half-elf wind dex/wis based with the rogue dilly.

The higher AC and higher DC to stuns and higher healing amp will offset the increased killing time required in epics due to no more auto-crits. Also I will be looking into intimidate as a dump skill on my next build, considering he is a Half-Elf, ect.. I might just find a way to fit a +15 intim item when needed.
