Thread: UI Skin: Cosmos

    Default UI Skin: Cosmos

11/10/11 Updated to v2.2, details here.

The main design goal of this skin is to be unobtrusive but aesthetic. Overall, I've slimmed down a few things, added some transparencies and reduced distracting colors in an effort to keep attention focused on the game world rather than the interface, while at the same time attempting to maintain a UI that's enjoyable to look at.

    I like the blue.

If you could make the outlines of the hotbars invisible, I'd love this.

    Ooooooh! Pretty!

Ordinarily I'm not a fan of blue, but the skin is so well done I'll make an exception in this case.

    Cool! you updated it.

Cosmos is the one I've used since I found about about the UI skins you can download.

We need more UI skins. D:

    Oh, it looks very nice!

    I love blue, too!

I don't like this new red at all...

I hope it'll be easy to install

EDIT: it changed everything to crude blue squares with some white lines
i turned it back to the original, do you know what might have gone wrong?

If i haven't responded to your post, it doesn't necessarily mean that i don't have counter-arguments, it might simply mean that i don't want to keep feeding the trolls.

It's not working right for me, and I followed the instructions on the page to the letter (using DDO instead of LOTRO, obviously).

Hey Falith, go here http://www.lotrointerface.com/forums/faq.php and check the links for the walkthroughs.

Basically you end up with a folder for the skin inside of (for Win7) C:\Users\username\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\ui\skins.

Then select the skin inside the UI options in game.

First time I tried this (last year) I missed something, but I installed a different skin a month or so ago and all worked fine.

EDIT - Actually there is a link to the Install FAQ just under the download link for the skin. Just noticed that...d'oh!

    Default Same issues as Hecate100

Skin loads up fine, but I am still getting the "Red look" on the compendium, inventory, etc. Also, the MyDDO button graphic is missing (as in Hecate's screenshot).

Running Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps.

Will keep checking back...I do like the looks of this skin. +1

Looks like you downloaded the old version. The download button near the top right of the page is the one you want. Sorry about that, guess I should have deleted the old one to avoid confusion. Good news is you installed it correctly!

I'm not sure what happened there. I moved the contents of my skin folder, then downloaded it myself to test it and it worked fine for me. I'll ask a friend to see if he has any ideas what might have gone wrong for you, though.

Did some brainstorming, but I'm still stumped. The grid usually shows up if an image is missing or misnamed or in a different folder than the skin definition file it goes with, which shouldn't be the case. I'd try starting over (sorry, that's all I can think of). Please let me know if you still have problems.

Thumbs up I had the wrong version

Yep...I downloaded v1.0. Downloaded 2.0 and it worked perfectly.

Thanks again for the skin (and for the quick reply).

Much better! The blue lines are kind of odd on the SP bar and below the portrait section on the lower right, but I'll stick with it.

I'm pretty certain those lines are percentage markers, and just happen to be a bit more visible with some of the skins.

This is the first skin I've ever downloaded (I hate red!) and I love it. Nice work. +1 for ya!

Awesome skin, I've sworn by ddolite for years but the new UI borked it pretty bad. The blue is really nice and easy on the eyes. Good work
