    Default I have a problem.

Ever try something and feel like, 'meh....'
Then one day it all comes full circle and you reach nirvana.

I have a hard time putting away my bard to play melee nowdays.
It is sad, but I love Wasabie.

    Oh, bards.

I just read the title and was going to jump in and say try penecillin, it usually clears it up.

I hear all problems can be solved by sitting on Stainer's lap. I have no first hand knowledge but maybe you should try it.

I am curious, is Wasabi a spell singer or warchanter? Do you melee or buff and heal? I am still trying to get to a good point with my bards (both spellsingers). What has changed? T

Wasabie is a warchanter with decent weapons, mediocre to-hit but her songs bring her to life at least in a support sort of way.

She has just shy of 1100 sp at lvl 20 and a 32 chr.
Once she gets her tower sets done and starts crafting in the shroud I can see her doing a little more melee.

I am torn tho, she had the halfling heros companion line but I respecced it out because I didnt have enough points for other things I wanted.
I am still trying to figure how to incorporate it back into the AP without dropping part of the guile line.

    She has mass cure light/mod.
She can switch to backup healing duties in raid situations and although she doesnt have the same numbers my clerics do, she can stay on her timers and keep the party topped.
When I am confident with the healing classes in the group she will switch to CC with charms/glitterdust/hold monster/ottos/gtr shout or go melee.

The only issue I have had with her is failing recon scrolls due to arcane spell failure.
I thought this was fixed a LONG time ago to fit the description of 'bards suffer no arcane spell failure while wearing light armor'.
I guess it doesnt apply to scrolls.
Either way, she will be moving on to cloth once she gets DT done so that should be a non-issue soon enough.

I personally witnessed the highlighted part. I was tanking Suluu on Pala with an arcane and Slink throwing Recon scrolls. It was bad enough that I was lagging so bad it would take me longer to establish agro. Of course I din't learn until afterwards that he was having an issue with arcane spell failure.

... and why else would you think Rosewood had never been rerolled? The wonderment of a bard is they may slip into a group and make it a better group.

Well I know I am not the only one that would say that ANY of your characters make a better group just by you being in it .

For crying out loud. What's next? You're going to roll a monk and start loving them? An AA ranger? Sigh.

The only builds that make sense are:

3 Tier PrE Fighter or Barb. At least 18 levels. A 2 splash is acceptable.
Pure cleric or FvS. Maybe a 2 monk or fighter splash if you are feeling saucy.
Pure Wiz or Sorc. Maybe a 2 rogue splash on the Wiz. Sorc must be pure.

    Everything else is gimp.

    Snap out of it man.

LOL. I'm actually trying out a WF Dark Monk now. So far, I like him, but I've only gotten him to level 7.

I know how difficult that can be to work all of that in. On my Halfling Ranger, I did want some of the Hero enhancements, but I was simply unable to do it, and still max out Cunning and Guile, as well as FE, etc.

I did get bonus points from people when I Hero'ed them in quests...when I still had 2 levels of the enhancement. I'll reserve it for my Halfling support chars. Can't spare the pts on my melees. Jerbil (in FH) is not taking any.

Good time to ask you two questions about spot healing in Shrouds on a bard...

Q1: Lets say you're in Shroud, people are beating on harry, do you generally stand back, healing? Question 2: Would you throw Mass Cure Mods on the group at ever timer cycle, and the occasional Heal scroll / Reconstruct on whoever needed it?

Well, she has been going in to melee on arri.
Last night's fiasco with 'someone who shall not be named in shroud', I decided my time was better spent to assist with healing duties.
From habit I take note of people in the raid up until the end fight.
Those that tend to take more damage than others are usually my target when we get to bosses.
Makes it easy to swap between mass cure -> Heal scroll without having to change targets.

In places like VoD/Tower I am too busy with buffs (rage/haste/songs/blur/whatever) to be able to utilize my mana for full time healing but can spot heal or drop a mass cure when it is needed by the group.
