    Default Component Pouches

I know this thread has been done, quite a few times over the years, but, every mod/update/etc that is made, there always should be at least one of these threads.

Devs, can you please seriously consider throwing us that play casters a bone and giving us a "quiver" for our components?

I'm sure current mechanics for bags might be difficult to do this, being that you would always be checking inside the bags for components/using them, but I do have to ask for it still. As is, now that cap is 20 and we have a total of 9 components, a lot of us casters are pressed for space moreso than ever.

Good casters typically carry as much gear as your average melee; why should casters be punished by having 9 (or, probably more accurately, 8) less backpack slots? I know it's not intended as such, but, classes like the ranger now have something to store all of their goodies in so that they don't have to take up anywhere near as many slots as before, back in the old days.

As a "cake and eat it too" sort of deal, it'd be awesome if there was a quiver-type equipment slot for spell components too!

I believe the last post I saw about this had a Dev explain that they were trying to find the best way to implement the component bags. Almost positive in fact.

And I think I remember one where Tarrant said the issue is that the engine cant easily "see" the components in the bag when you cast a spell.

So it would be nice to have but dont hold your breath.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Yeah, I tried that a while back, it didn't work too well!

And I know that's the problem with it, and somewhat doubt we'll see it until at least mod8. But, still, the point remains despite that. It'd be nice to have.

Guess it'd be nice still to see an update on how this is going, too.

You know, if nothing else, make components "ingredients" so that we can stick them in the ingredients bag.

That alone would help a ton.

My cleric has at least 11 slots devoted to these things.

the problem is when you cast a spell, it deducts the component, simply putting it into the bag makes it unusable, it would have to be taken out of the bag to be used, which makes the whole thing pointless, unless your goal was to store extra ingredients beyond the 999 that fits in one inventory slot.

Here's a solution, give create a new row of 9 pseudo slots, much like the one where you put in your quivers or ammo, and unlock these slots for characters capable of casting spells.
If you can throw level 4 spells then you unlock 4 slots, where you can only put in spell components just as you can only put in ammo in the ammo slot.

If there is no way of unlocking slots like I've suggested then you could take an even rougher approach and give everyone 9 extra, each one only allowing one particular level component, different, slots.

Our bows can "see" the arrows though.

That said, hopefully they can find a way.
