I loved 2 as well, but the scariest thing for me was when I came across the serv bots for the first time. I had picked up the warning email, but I read it after, lol. "How can I help you?" Not fun the first time you meet them and all you have is a pistol and a pipe.
I kinda gave up on RTS games with empire Earth. I loved the stories in games like C&C, but I could never get into them without giving up and cheating. Starcraft has a bit of a cult following, but I think I will be satisfied reading the plot summary on Wikipedia and not playing the game. It looks like it will be good, but not good enough.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

You'll have to explain. It honestly just sounds like you're plain bitter for some hidden reason. The trailer obviously showcased the single player campaign, which nobody has gotten to test yet.
The beta itself was very fun. There were very few bugs, most of them extremely minor. If there's one thing this company does right, it's polish.
I can't believe you're tossing the "non-original" card around. The premise of aliens fighting against humans fighting against some more aliens may have already been created before SC1, but that doesn't make it "non-original." Hell, that means any movie made after Alien that has anything to do with humans vs. aliens is "non-original." But I digress.
Played the beta, was fun because it was new, but then realized its classic blizzard- Make a non-original game and refine it over and over and over and then add sequels with cool stories that all end with a to be continued...Myself and other rts friends are all top 20 players for rts games like AOE and COH and warhammer- unfortunatly we all agree that this game is all sparkles to buy and tears of boredom later. The mods online will be the best thing out of sc2.
I wont be playing sc2, im on DDO until starwars online and then until v13.
I don't understand the "my friends and I are all top 20 players" bit. Top 20 in what? I'm sorry, but none of those games you mentioned has a ladder system like Blizzard, which in turn attracts the most competition. The SC2 ladder is meant more than ever for competition. If you played the beta you should know this.
I don't mind if you don't like SC2, that's fine, but at least give some real reasons besides "it sucks."
i did give reasons other than it sucks. A whole paragraph. Im not going to repeat myself but sc2 has nothing going on beyond the storyline and mods. The beta was ok, nothing new. Everyone has played the ladder system on battlenet... what makes it great? its a ladder system like any other with disconnects, smurfing, and so on. Stacraft 2 isnt great, its Blizzards starcraft 1 all over again with a refined look and new units that do the same old thing. It sucks.
No thanks.
and it seems that a lot of folks feel the need to come to other games and crow about what everyone should be playing.
Go play your SC2 game man....i and i as you can see a lot do not care.
Enjoy....but really...does this make you feel important or special...show some respect to Turbine...your on their forum...you want to go talk SC2...go to Blizzards board....really.
Blizzard has always made some of the best animated cut-scenes in the biz, no doubt. Hell, the intro cinematic alone from Warcraft III sold me on the game.
And then a funny thing happened.... the gameplay failed to live up to those amazing cinematic. Good games, to be sure. But, saying that the meat ' potatoes of their games and their meticulously crafted vids are one and the same - well, I will have to politely disagree.
Blizzard should be making movies, ala Pixar. But for games, I'll wait on SCII to see what the consensus is before I put down my hardscrabble recession cash on it.
